Being cooped up in the house all day is no fun for us, and it is even less fun for our dogs. There are plenty of dog parks in the Baltimore area to take your dog to for a day of fun.
Patterson Dog Park
Location: 200 S Linwood Ave Baltimore, DC 21224
Located in Patterson Park, the Patterson Dog Park includes separate areas for big and small dogs with astroturf hills to play on. There are rules in place to make sure all dogs and handlers are safe. It also has wading pools and water fountains to keep your dog cool on a hot day. This is one of the more popular parks, so you may find yourself making some new friends.
Latrobe Park
Location: 1529 Fort Ave Baltimore, MD 21230
Latrobe Park is located in Locust Point and has fun for everyone! There is a fenced in area for off-leash dog play, as well as sports fields for handlers to play in. If your dog is a risk taker, they can take their turn on the dog waterslide. This park was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in New York.
Canton Dog Park
Location: 3221 Toone St Baltimore, MD 21224
Canton Dog Park is a sand-filled dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Amenities include free water and poop bags for the dogs; and free parking and shade for their humans. This is a free park run by volunteers for both people and dogs to socialize and relax.
Federal Hill Park
Location: 300 Warren Ave Baltimore, MD 21230
For a park with plenty of beautiful scenery, visit Federal Hill Park. It has one of the most iconic views of the Inner Harbor. Make sure to keep your dog on the leash because off-leash play is not allowed. It’s the perfect park for a long walk with your pup.
Paw Point Dog Park
Location: 1000 Lakeside Dr Baltimore, MD 21210
The membership park, Paw Point, is located in Towson. Although you have to pay a fee to join, it will be well worth it. There is a large lake for dogs who love to swim, as well as an enclosed area for dogs to run around off-leash. If you do not want to pay the fee, you can walk your leashed dog in the general park area.
Howards Park Dog Park
Location: 310 Centre St Baltimore, MD 21201
Howards Park Dog Park is a dog park close to Downtown Baltimore. Like many of the other dog parks, there are separate areas for small and large dogs so that your pup can run free and play until they tire out.
Whether you visit one of these parks, or another one of your choosing, it is important to get your furry friend out of the house to give them some fresh air and socialization.
