Easy Dog Treat Recipe for When You’re Stuck at Home

This easy and fun to make dog treat recipe can be successfully accomplished by any pet parent, no matter your skill level. So grab your apron and your mixing bowl and get ready to make Fido some homemade dog treats!

Only Two Ingredients Needed

Your choice of baby food and flour are the only two ingredients you need to make these favorite canine treats. This is great because there is a wide variety of baby food flavors, as well as flour. If your dog has a wheat allergy, you can use options like chickpea flour, coconut flour, or oat flour. If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to baby food, here are a few flavors many canines tend to love.

  • Apple
  • Banana
  • Avocado
  • Berries
  • Butternut Squash
  • Carrots
  • Chicken
  • Peas
  • Sweet Potato

Don’t have any baby food? You can use pureed pumpkin, sweet potato, or unsweetened apple sauce. Or any other dog-safe pureed fruits or vegetables you have on hand. (Tip: if you haven’t already, consider introducing your dog to some fruits and veggies before you make their treats so you can learn which ones they love and which ones they don’t).
