Obedience is about off-leash training, such as correcting aggression, separation anxiety, or a lack of recall. Ultimately, an obedient dog is a much happier, healthier dog than… Read More

Reactive

A reactive dog overreacts to normal situations that other dogs would take in stride. They become overstimulated easily and may bark, lunge, and growl at something as simple as another dog or person walking on the other side of the street. Attention to training is extremely important, as reactivity can turn into aggression. The cause… Read More

Socialization with dogs, humans, and other animals is a great way to ensure a well-mannered and confident dog. We took in our 6 month old Red Merle Australian Shepherd for 20 days because we needed A LOT of help! We know Red is a star with so much potential but just didn’t have the time to get him started and Ryan did a phenomenal job from our initial consultation through the end of the program. You can tell by the videos and pictures that he has a passion for the love and care he takes on each lesson. We felt Red was safe and well cared for by Ryan and all the staff that runs Sit Means Sit. As someone mentioned in a review, it really does involve you continuing the education for your dog and the bond you can continue to build from the training Ryan so lovingly provides.

Since we saw Red did so well, we have a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog that is already a star but has some bad habits. We enrolled her in the 10 day program since she is ahead in some obedience training but is a rescue so she has some habits to remediate that we feel Ryan and Team can help with so we can live a more meaningful life with our dogs’ level of potential.

Thank you Ryan for all you did for Red. He’s still a puppy but he’s SOOO much better now.

We enrolled our 10 month old and 4 year old Australian & German Shepherds to the 10-Day Board and Train. We had the pleasure of having Ryan as our primary trainer for our pup and she returned to us a changed dog. The pros to Sit Means Sit are endless to list but I’ll add a few below:

– Gave us a mode of communication with our dogs that allow us to be better parents and for them to understand how to handle new environments.
– Has a team that will take on challenges with confidence regardless of age, breed, or quirks. This was especially realized with our 4 year old German shepherd who is reactive and has high anxiety.
– Effective communication and customer service. Ryan was great with update videos and messages about our pups progress and has been a great help post board and train. Ryan is truly an asset to the team and we’re really lucky to have had him for our puppy.
– Effective Follow-Up. Unlike most board and train programs, Sit Means Sit ensures that as owners we have the tools for continued learning and progression with our dogs. From the personal training lessons to the group classes, their team ensures we get the full experience out of the training. They’re really cheerleaders for our success.

Post board and train ~ approximately 1 month after ~ our puppy no longer — (1) pulls on the leash, (2) is reactive to other dogs, (3) is comfortable in new environments where previously she would be going crazy, (4) is more obedient at home and will listen to our direction, (5) doesn’t jump out of the car the moment we stop, etc..

Just know, when enrolling your dog to this program, you are also taking on the workload of learning these new methods in order to ensure you remain consistent with your dogs once their home. That has been the biggest adjustment for us, so just be ready! It’ll be like you’re back in school and is definitely a brain exercise for both you and your pup. But the results are definitely worth it!
