We took in our 6 month old Red Merle Australian Shepherd for 20 days because we needed A LOT of help! We know Red is a star with so much potential but just didn’t have the time to get him started and Ryan did a phenomenal job from our initial consultation through the end of the program. You can tell by the videos and pictures that he has a passion for the love and care he takes on each lesson. We felt Red was safe and well cared for by Ryan and all the staff that runs Sit Means Sit. As someone mentioned in a review, it really does involve you continuing the education for your dog and the bond you can continue to build from the training Ryan so lovingly provides.
Since we saw Red did so well, we have a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog that is already a star but has some bad habits. We enrolled her in the 10 day program since she is ahead in some obedience training but is a rescue so she has some habits to remediate that we feel Ryan and Team can help with so we can live a more meaningful life with our dogs’ level of potential.
Thank you Ryan for all you did for Red. He’s still a puppy but he’s SOOO much better now.
We enrolled our 10 month old and 4 year old Australian & German Shepherds to the 10-Day Board and Train. We had the pleasure of having Ryan as our primary trainer for our pup and she returned to us a changed dog. The pros to Sit Means Sit are endless to list but I’ll add a few below:
– Gave us a mode of communication with our dogs that allow us to be better parents and for them to understand how to handle new environments.
– Has a team that will take on challenges with confidence regardless of age, breed, or quirks. This was especially realized with our 4 year old German shepherd who is reactive and has high anxiety.
– Effective communication and customer service. Ryan was great with update videos and messages about our pups progress and has been a great help post board and train. Ryan is truly an asset to the team and we’re really lucky to have had him for our puppy.
– Effective Follow-Up. Unlike most board and train programs, Sit Means Sit ensures that as owners we have the tools for continued learning and progression with our dogs. From the personal training lessons to the group classes, their team ensures we get the full experience out of the training. They’re really cheerleaders for our success.Post board and train ~ approximately 1 month after ~ our puppy no longer — (1) pulls on the leash, (2) is reactive to other dogs, (3) is comfortable in new environments where previously she would be going crazy, (4) is more obedient at home and will listen to our direction, (5) doesn’t jump out of the car the moment we stop, etc..
Just know, when enrolling your dog to this program, you are also taking on the workload of learning these new methods in order to ensure you remain consistent with your dogs once their home. That has been the biggest adjustment for us, so just be ready! It’ll be like you’re back in school and is definitely a brain exercise for both you and your pup. But the results are definitely worth it!
I have a high energy German shepherd puppy that I needed help training. After extensive research, I decided to bring her to sit means sit. The whole staff is great. You can tell they love what they do. Chris was the one in charge of training my puppy. He did a great job with her. He sent me videos of the progress every other day! I brought her home today and I can already see awesome results. I definitely recommend this program
We took our 4-year-old Athena (pitbull mix) to Sit Means Sit. Before attending the 10-day boarding Athena was super reactive to other dogs and had a hard time walking on a leash, staying focused, and completing commands. Athena finished her boarding in Early December and we have seen a great improvement. She is way better around other dogs and on walks. She is improving in following commands and walking on a leash. She’s been doing great in our one-on-one training and moving on to groups soon! The staff have been amazing. Super nice, patient, and super accommodating. Each time we’ve visited the facility Athena remembers the staff and gets excited to see them. Overall a great experience so far and we can’t wait to continue training with Sit Means Sit.
They did a great job with Micky. He was able to be trained quickly and they were so great about updating me on his progress. The training was harder for me not having my little guy home. He was so happy when he was dropped off. I highly recommend Sit means Sit. Chris did a great job training my puppy!
Basically, my dog who is three years old is a very well mannered good dog with very few bad habits. With that said, she is so interested in what’s under the next bush that she ends up pulling me down the street every time I take her for a walk. She also is a flight risk. if she gets out of our house without a leash she takes off and it’s only been through people helping to catch her when they saw her coming that eliminated the risk of a car accident on the road. My daughter recommended this company after their dog had gone through training. When the trainer brought her home to me he stayed and walked my dog and I through her training and then had me walk her through what she had learned… amazing!
This investment of finances and time was a wise choice on my part … I finally have the dog I’ve always wanted and it’s only through her training that this was possible. P Pilmanis
Amazing job from Chris! I could see the how much he learned from Day 1 and there’s a great follow up to keep on improving. They also took very good care of him during the boarding!
I was so pleased with the training here. The trainers were all so attentive and explained everything so well. Chris especially took the time to teach me everything to set my dog and myself up for success upon going home. And the training doesn’t stop after the initial session, training continues and they also come to your house! Very pleased with the attentiveness and responsiveness of this business and the trainers. Chris really knew his stuff and had so much helpful advice!
We could not thank Chris enough for the care and confidence he gave our little Butters (7 month old goldendoodle)! We signed up for their board & train program & it was worth the investment. Before boarding, Butters was pulling on his leash, jumping, barking at other dogs, had separation anxiety, etc. Even after just 4 days of being home, there’s already such a positive difference in his behavior and confidence! Thank you again to Chris and everyone at Sit Means Sit! You all made it worth it!
I brought my 5 month old bernedoodle to Sit Means Sit because she was absolutely uncontrollable (jumping, biting, etc.). To be honest, I thought at the time that she was “untrainable”. When I got her back 21 days later, I couldn’t believe this was the same dog. She now obeys all commands and walks off-leash with me in my neighborhood. She no longer bites or jumps. The trainers regularly sent me videos of her training sessions while she was with them. When they brought her back, they taught me how to implement the training techniques my dog learned while she boarded there.
I am beyond pleased with Sit Means Sit and I recommend them to every dog owner I know who is interested in training for their pet.
Sit Means Sit is absolutely an amazing training program for dogs. I got my puppy when he was only 2 months old and he was untrained and so he would just pee everywhere and bite all the time. Which of course is expected from a puppy however it was uncontrollable and we tried other trainings but none of them worked. We were hopeless until we found Sit Means Sit. After only one lesson my puppy stopped the bitings. He got better and better and he is now almost 9months and he sits when we tell him to, he is potty trained, never bites and has turned into the sweetest dog. This is all because of the helpings of Marv and Marlene. They are the trainers helping us and they are amaizng. Every time we see them they have smiles on their faces and are great with our puppy. They have a five day abroad training where they took our pup for five days to better train him and when he came back he was even better than we thought. He never barks in the house, he listens to us and is amazing. If it was up to us, Marv and Marlene would get a gold metal for dealing with our little hyper puppy because they really deserve it. I love them very much and am so very thankful to have them train my puppy. Thank you Marv and Marlene for your amazing tips and trainings.
This is a great training program for dogs and puppies. We have a pure bred husky and she has done amazing with this training. I have been able to start allowing her to be off lease and she doesn’t go far. Huskys are known for not being able to be off lease because they “take off”, but our dog Luna stays close and doesn’t wander, she returns on command and walks great on lease (with no harness, collar only). I would recommend this training to anyone! Marv and Marlene are great!
I have been working with Marv and Marlene for over 9 months, first individual training, and now group training. I have two beautiful rescue dogs, Sophie and Rhett that were reacting to other dogs’ barking and yapping. Marv and Marlene guided me and gave me so many helpful tips which all made perfect sense. Their knowledge of dog behavior is commendable. I appreciate their true love and patience with my dogs. Marv and Marlene made it easy for me to understand what I needed to do in order to have my dogs stop pulling every time they encountered a rowdy dog that would come too close and invade their personal space. Whenever I have a concern, they are very quick to set up individual time to come to our home and resolve my concerns. Thank you for your professional and caring service!
Marv and Marlene are wonderful We have spent a fortune on other dog trainers for our exuberant three year old golden retriever. Finally we found these trainers and at last our pup is learning to be mindful. He is smart, but gets very excited to love everyone up- which can be a problem. We are being trained to be consistent and they are teaching us great tricks and skills to manage our Jupi. We are so grateful. Each week now we have the joy of going to group classes in Laguna Niguel – we have had several private lessons to learn specific individual skills, but now our golden needs to learn to behave in a group class. This is a fabulous approach. We have had several golden retrievers through the years and had no trouble training them, but this guy, lovable as he is, has shown us that we need patience and expert trainers. Thank goodness for Marv and Marlene. They are the best- and great people too.
The Sit Means Sit program enabled me to take my two dogs Gaea and Dayzee on mountain hikes without worrying about them chasing wildlife. It’s great to hike with my dogs and not worry about spooking the wildlife, thank you!
I am so pleased and impressed with Sit Means Sit in general. My Aussie puppy did a three week board-and-train since my work schedule limited my ability to go to group classes. They were very understanding and did an excellent job of explaining every aspect of their training methods, their e-collar, and were very open to questions. I met with a number of different trainers and every single one was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The difference in my puppy is incredible. She listens (the collar really helps), she doesn’t bite me as I walk by, and she doesn’t bark for attention. For the go-home lessons, the trainers I met with were very patient with me as I learned how to work with her, explained the e-collar and its use in detail, and gave me pointers on how to work with specific challenges I was having. Excellent service, very pleased with the results, money well spent. Sit Means Sit is my go-to for dog training because of their quality work and friendly staff.
We took our two pitbulls to Sit Means Sit for training. Sit Means Sit did a wonderful job training our dogs. Kileaux was always easily distracted and Nikita was a rambunctious puppy. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us how to work with our dogs on continued training.
It is hard to find companies that will work with pitbull puppies, let alone full grown 115+ lb pitbulls. However, Sit Means Sit never failed to make my dogs feel loved and welcomed – which was an added bonus to the amazing quality of training we received. I will absolutely be referring Sit Means Sit to friends and family!
Sit Means Sit’s training program has seriously been one of the best investments I have ever made. I picked my dog, Biggie, up last week and the changes in her behavior and previous aggression have been unbelievable! She’s a better listener, less territorial, and just an all around better behaved and happier dog!
My dog has been able to get off of her very strong anti-anxiety medication and live a better life because of the trainers at Sit Means Sit. Her quality of life, as well as mine and that of my family’s is infinitely better and for that I will be forever grateful!
Thank you Sit Means Sit for changing Biggie’s life! She looks forward to more group training and I will recommend y’all to everyone I know!
