We can’t say enough about how happy we are with the results we have gotten with our Labrador puppy and highly recommend Matt and the Sit Means Sit program. We started with Matt when our pup was four months old and are amazed with her behavior at six months of age. Matt not only set the ground work with our pup but, more importantly, instructed us on what we needed to do to keep the training moving forward either by guidance or by taking the time to answer our questions. Matt is very easy going and a pleasure to work with. He also has a talent for training and an amazing connection with our pup. If you are willing to put in the time and follow Matt’s guidance, you will see quick and lasting results. Dave and Amy H.

Matt was amazing with our German Shepherd puppy, Milo. Matt helped us feel and embrace that we had the tools and resources to make Milo a sweet, well-behaved family dog. Listen to his training ideas and be consistent! Milo is the wonderful around our two little kids and even our cat. Investing in training our dog waso of the best things we did for all of us! Thanks, Matt!

I spent several years with a fear aggressive dog that I rescued. Before rescuing her I was told she was attacked by the other dog she was living with and she was surrendered to the shelter. She has always been wonderful with people and children, and thanks to Matt we are now living with another dog and are able to have several dog friends! Prior to meeting Matt she attacked one dog and tried going after a few others. It’s a total turn around and has spared me a ton of stress. We are even able to go on walks in close proximity to other dogs without issues now! Highly recommend!!

Our family adopted a ten week old Mini-Goldendoodle, Finn, and we realized we needed help learning to control him. He jumped on people, constantly was trying to bite our kids, was starting to destroy items in our house and dragged us around when going for a walk. Finn’s aggressive nature was a huge challenge. When we met Matt, our prayers were answered! We shared with Matt the issues we were having with Finn in the house and that we wanted to walk Finn regularly on a leash in our neighborhood. Matt helped us implement a plan to quickly help control Finn. Matt taught us the body motions and voice commands necessary to have our dog know we needed and wanted him to listen to us. Weekly lessons at the beginning helped Finn quickly responded to the commands. We work with Finn daily to maintain what he has learned over time. Our family feels very fortunate to have met Matt from Sit Means Sit Pittsburgh North and highly recommend him every chance we get!

We had a great experience with Matt and Sit Means Sit. We have a 4 year old German Shepherd who used to go crazy during walks whenever she spotted another dog. Uncontrollably crazy. Not a fun thing with an 80 pound dog. Matt gave us tools to get her attention and control her. The e-collar he uses has been key in diverting her attention. And by the way, I put the collar on my own neck just to feel what our dog was feeling and it was not painful. Before this, nothing would work, not even treats. We can now walk our dog without stress or fear. Matt was really professional and really knows what he’s doing. He was incredibly responsive when we had questions or concerns. Our lessons were in stages, with our last lesson at North Park where we walked by probably twenty dogs without Rosie blowing up. I was amazed at how far we’d come. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit for training any stubborn dog! I never thought our dog Rosie had this potential!

We started working with Matt at Sit Means Sit with our 4 month old GSP. At the time, we were having issues with aggression and leash training. After a few sessions working with Matt, our pup has completely transformed into a cuddly, gentle dog who listens to commands. She also can be trusted to hike with us off leash and stay within eyesight or come when called back. Additionally, Matt has always been available by text to quickly answer any questions we have between sessions. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

Hiring Matt to help with training Mia, our 5-year-old rescue chihuahua, was the best decision we made! Mia was having lots of accidents in our house and would not listen well to our commands for the first month we had her. To my surprise, Matt drove to our house for training which helped Mia become acclimated to her new environment. He provided great tools and so many good tips for potty training and simple commands. And Matt was always courteous and responsive to text messages with any questions or concerns we had. Mia is now a more confident and happy dog! She no longer has accidents in the house, she listens well to our commands and she gets along well with our other adopted dog. We definitely suggest Matt if you are looking for a dog trainer. You will not regret it!

Matt was awesome! Absolutely worth the price for in home training. Our puppy responded well to his methods. The puppy was able to quickly potty train and learn basic commands. Highly recommend this service!

Matt is awesome! We met with him 4 times over our new puppy’s first 2 months and he showed us everything we needed to know to get her potty trained, crate trained, walking nicely on a leash, and so much more. He is so responsive to texts in between lessons to answer questions and keep you moving forward. I’d highly recommended investing in his services. 100% worth the cost.

The best investment we have made for our fur babies ever!! We searched and selected based off the stellar reviews and were not disappointed. We have breed-standard stubborn Pyrenees that don’t take well to training, supposedly. However, Matt’s plans and techniques worked immediately. The dogs loved the training and that they were “paid with love” for each good deed. Our results exceeded all our goals that prompted us to seek this training. Further, Matt was very attentive and responsive during and in between training sessions. We had specific needs and goals and felt our plan was very customized. He explained the plan and techniques clearly, reinforced and confirmed with simple, direct explanations, and made corrections constructively and without judgment. We have had experience with at least 2 other trainers in the past and nothing compares to this experience in results or the overall experience.

I can’t say enough good things about Matt and Sit Means Sit. Our pup has some pretty intense behavioral/aggression issues and Matt was able to provide insight into some of the root causes, lay out a straight forward and easy plan for training with appropriate expectations and a clear timeline for re-training these poor behaviors. Matt has always been available between sessions for questions, is prompt and respectful of our time during sessions and is genuinely great to work with. I would recommend Matt and the Sit Means Sit program to everyone. We have a calmer, happier dog because of him.

Matt was great with our German Shepard and mini golden doodle! He really listened to our concerns and made that the priority of our training. Matt helped us to achieve our goal of overall obedient dogs and corrected the problems we had for each dog. We couldn’t be happier with the service that were received! We highly recommend Matt! Thank you again!

Matt was excellent with our Bernedoodle. He helped us teach him all of the important commands and how to properly walk on a leash. Matt is incredible with dogs. He takes control but you can tell loves animals. He was available for any and all questions. I would highly recommend Matt to others.

I couldn’t be happier with the results. I have a 14 month mini Bernadoodle with a whole lot of energy. After 4 lessons with Matt she is very well behaved and much more manageable.

We’ve tried other training services to help my 1.5 year stubborn shiba inu to no avail. With the help of Matt and the system he uses, the experience we now have is night and day with our dog. Matt’s system empowers you with the skills needed to continue training beyond the confines of individual sessions. He sets you up for continued success. We highly recommend for any dog—no matter how stubborn!

Matt was very thorough with his training and explained everything well as we went into different areas from basic commands, walks, door behavior and interaction with other dogs. We would highly recommend Sit means Sit for any training/behavior issues. We learned a lot. Thanks again!

We brought our crazy energetic and scared puppy to see Matt for training. Matt asked us the first session what our goals for our pup were with training and After 5 minutes we could already see a difference. After just two sessions we had reached out original goals and were working on new skills. After completing our full training sessions we could not be happier with the results. Far and above exceeded our expectations

Providing an update as it has been several months since our final in-person session with Matt. Our Siberian Husky, Mia, is consistently improving as we continue to work with her following the guidelines and techniques that Matt taught us (and her). I have had at least a handful of people compliment Mia’s behavior and I credit Matt. Mia is growing into a pleasurable and well behaved puppy! She turns one next week and we couldn’t be happier with her! Thank you Matt! We had a great experience with Sit Means Sit North! Matt is professional, very good at his job and he quickly gained the respect of our Siberian Husky puppy (Mia). Our homework became a joy as we saw positive results daily in Mia’s behavior. Mia is still an energetic puppy but so much fun to be around! Thank you Matt!

Prior to working with Matt, it was our chocolate lab Finn’s world and we were all just living in it. After just one lesson we noticed positive changes in his behavior and any signs of aggression had disappeared. By the end of four lessons, Finn was a changed dog. He listened to commands without needing to be rewarded with treats, would come when called, and could loose leash walk. Highly recommend Matt and Sit Means Sit!

Matt is an excellent trainer! He taught us how to work with our dog Max and together we accomplished all of our goals. Max had high anxiety and fear of others and pretty much everything outside. He would bark constantly and show aggression. It created an awful lot of chaos and stress in our household for years, not to mention aggravating and worrying the neighbors. Now our household is peaceful and we enjoy being inside and outside with our dog! Now Max isn’t anxious and aggressive and can travel with us. On graduation day we went through a drive thru and for the first time ever he was calm. They even gave him a doggy treat. We could not have been able to accomplish any of this without Matt’s training. Very professional, friendly and a fair price. Do yourself a favor. Call Matt.

Onyx is my 2 year old mini pig. Hes a great pet. Before Sit Means Sit he was very nervous about everything, he would snap at people, he would charge people, he would bark at them, we could not take him anywhere near small children, he was just very uncontrollable and unsociable, I had to just keep him at home in his cage if i want out or people came over. After just 3 training sessions, now I can take him out anymore I want! I take him to soccer games, baseball games, college events, everywhere! He did just do a big event for Freeport Area High School, he did the “Kiss the Pig” event and he let a stranger kiss him! He’s gotten incredibly better I’m so happy! Big thanks to Sit Means Sit!!!

I had a great experience working with Matt! not only is he personable and easy to work with, but he is an excellent trainer. We were able to transform a gigantic stray shepherd puppy from a total maniac into a calm, obedient buddy in 2 sessions. This is a very practical and effective method of training. If you’re on the fence just go for it. You AND you dog will be much happier.

Great company to work with I choose sit means sit because they specialize in off leash training and have seen good progress thus far with my 10 mouth old puppy, she’s gone for a wild bundle of energy to a more focused bundle of energy. ( she is a puppy after all). Matt has been very good about answering an questions I have had as well. Bottom line: If you are welling to put in the work with your dog you will see results.

Before working with Matt, our dog Brian was not a very well trained dog. We adopted him from a shelter when he was 5 years old. He had clearly been in a home with little to no structure or rules for dogs. He would bark and growl at any other people or dogs on the road when walking. He would do the same to new guests, and even guests he did know he would constantly jump at sometimes knocking smaller children over.

After 1 week of Boot Camp with Matt and a few weeks of further training at home we now have a MUCH improved dog. He sits when we tell him to, he doesn’t bark at strangers, and he is good with most other dogs.

We are very happy and grateful for the results we have gotten with the help of Matt and highly recommend using him if you have a dog that just won’t learn easy or is set in old habits.
