Portland Dog-Friendly Eats

As all Portland residents and visitors know, the city is full of great coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. But what many people don’t know is that the city has a plethora of dog-friendly eateries as well! Portland loves dogs and welcomes them into everything from small cafes to cool bars. Check out our favorite dog-friendly eats in Portland below.

Sniff Dog Hotel

The Sniff Dog Hotel itself is a luxury dog hotel complete with a dog salon and spa and a Sniff Cafe that offers coffee, craft beer, and sandwiches and pizza. There’s also a 2000 square foot play area inside, where your dog can play for free during happy hour from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. What a perfect opportunity to share a meal with your furry friend and to let them socialize for a few hours!

The Rambler

With traditional Southwestern fare like Frito pie and smoked brisket chili, you can’t go wrong with anything on this delicious menu. The charming restaurant is inside a converted 1920s bungalow, and you’ll absolutely fall in love with its homey feel and delicious fare. The bar consists of dog-friendly front and back patios, fire pits, and a bocce ball court. There are also all-day happy hours on Mondays! Bring your pup to share a delicious southern meal with you on a nice day.

Java Hound Coffee Bar

This relaxed cafe is located in the pet shop Hip Hound, which serves local coffee, tea, and pastries in addition to the Puppuccino, a Java Hound classic that consists of goat milk topped with some tasty treats. Every third Thursday, there’s a Yappy Hour from 5-7 pm, which includes wine and beer tastings and yummy treats for both doggos and humans. Stop by while you’re shopping in Hip Hound or make a day trip over to share a sweet treat with your favorite furry friend.

Lucky Labrador Beer Hall

Lucky Labrador Beer Hall is Portland’s original dog bar and has four locations throughout the city. Each location has dog-friendly patios, photo ops, and plenty of water for your thirsty pup to slurp. The beer hall is also famous for its annual “Dogtoberfest,” which is a dog-wash event that consists of lots of beer and live music for the Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital. What more could you ask for in a brewpub?

Victoria Bar

This fun but high-quality cocktail bar is known for naming its drinks after Princess BrideĀ references. This hotspot is also complete with Cajun-inspired plates, including vegan and gluten-free options. The dog-friendly patio is a pleasant and fun spot to hang out with your dog on a nice sunny Portland day. Happy hour is every day from 3 to 6 pm, with discounted food and drink.
