Aggression and reactivity can leave you feeling hopeless.

Answering a few questions can help us hone in on a solution.  Are they people or dog reactive? Are they just reactive? Lunging and barking? Or do they have a history of unwanted biting? We are here to help make life easier!

These aggressive dogs may not have received proper puppy or obedience training in the past, and as a result, these bad habits have developed, necessitating behavior modification to help them get along.

Some doges are recovering from a bad history, and need guidance back to a normal life.

Our dog trainers are here to provide the right aggressive dog training program for any dog, regardless of age or breed, to manage bad habits. Whether it is your first dog or you want to work on two dogs to handle the dogs’ behavioral problems, we have the ability and expertise to help!

Experienced Dog Trainers

At Sit Means Sit, we can provide dog owners with professional dog trainers who can provide some of the dog training you are looking for.

Puppy training can be so important for your dog’s life, ensuring that they start off with good behavior, can get along with the other dogs in your home, can be a well-behaved new puppy, and can even do well in a public park.

Dogs learn a lot during this crucial time, stopping playful mouthing and impulse control. But without a proper foundation, behavioral issues can creep up with your furry friend. We specialize in helping pets and improving canine behavior problems.

Using proven training methods, we teach your dog to be a great dog, giving you the successful relationship that you are looking for. Example Dog Training Program for Aggressive Dogs

When you are looking for dog trainers who can handle aggressive dogs, then it is time to look at our boot camp options. We are training dogs who struggle with separation anxiety and aggression, allowing them to learn basic obedience and behavior modification to be the great dog you are looking for. There are many behavior issues we can focus on in our day training program and we encourage the family member to check out all the options.

While a successful training program will typically take time, we have a proven track record.

A reactive dog will need to work closely with one of our dog trainers, and we are confident that this obedience training will be able to help. Let’s take a closer look at how each phase will occur to help you get the most out of your furry friend.

Keep in mind that, depending on your dog’s unique siuation, each phase may take longer or shorter.

Phase 1

The first phase can be the biggest challenge during dog training, for both our trainers and the dog owners. Our dog trainers will work with your reactive dog to help take them away from the owner and successfully work through separation anxiety if it shows up.

The main goal here is to train dogs to get used to and familiar with the dog trainer. Nothing can happen until the two have a successful relationship with one another and some of the behavior modification and basic obedience can happen later. We will not use the form in this training program. You want your reactive dog to do well with women and children as well, so we will use a gentle touch and slowly work through each step with them.

Phase 2

During the second phase, we can look at how to progress with your dog. Depending on the issues and the level of aggression, we may choose to continue with a leash and muzzle from the first phase or move on to some of the other steps for dog training and behavior modification.

This is a good time to work more on basic obedience dog training to help them learn some of the commands that you would like. We can work on the “heel” position and “advanced sit” to help the dog have something good to focus on. This is a great way to improve confidence too.

Phase 3

During this phase, we will work on some of the off-leash skills that they need to know with their dog trainer. The dog trainers can help them recall skills and work on how to behave without the leash holding them back. They can practice some of the skills that your dog will need in a public park and on daily walks and hiking trails, such as having someone run past the dog to see what will happen.

Phase 4

With the help of the muzzle, the distractions will continue. Other dogs and humans will be around during this time while dog trainers work to maintain the dog’s attention, keeping them focused and stopping them from exhibiting behavior issues. The goal is to help your dog remain calm around others.

Phase 5

During this last phase, our dog trainers will continue to work on some of the basic obedience and other skills that they worked on for dog training on the other days. Slowly, the techniques will remove the collar and watch as your dog behaves. Before the program is over, the goal is to help your dog maintain control and have no behavior issues, even when you take them for a walk. We teach this knowledge so dog owners can continue being successful, having confidence and control over their pup!

Whether you are looking at our puppy training, want to make sure that your dog can get along with other dogs or the neighbor’s dog, or recently adopted a new dog for just companionship, our positive reinforcement dog training will be able to help you have that successful relationship you are looking for.
