Exploring Dog Parks: Salt Lake City Edition

Salt Lake City, known for its breathtaking mountain views and vibrant city life, is also a huge dog-loving community. The pet-friendly city is adding more dog parks, giving pet parents plenty of options for letting their furry friends play and socialize with other dogs off-leash.

Want to know the best dog parks in Salt Lake City? Let’s jump in!

Run-a-Muk Dog Park

Aside from the name (which we love), Run-a-Muk dog park makes you feel like you’re not even at a dog park. With 43 acres of space and a two-mile trail, your dog has plenty of freedom to roam around and burn off some energy. If your pup is a runner, knowing that the park is fenced will give you peace of mind that they’re safe.

Dayland Dog Park

A 20-minute drive from downtown, Dayland Dog Park is a great option if you have time to step outside the city. It’s ideal for water lovers, with small creeks your pup can enjoy splashing through. There’s plenty of space for both of you to enjoy, with the park made of both gravel and grass areas.

If you have a small dog, there’s a designated area for them as well.

Dog Park at Cottonwood Park

Another one of our favorite dog parks in Salt Lake City is Dog Park at Cottonwood Park. A large dog park with tons of trees and grass, it’s a spot your pooch will love going to.

The best part is the park is designed for people to enjoy as well. If you want to have a seat and enjoy your coffee, there are plenty of picnic tables. There’s also a paved path for you to stroll down, and with the park right on the Jordan River Parkway, you can bike or walk to the park.

Memory Grove Off-Leash Area at Freedom Trail

Right in the heart of downtown, Memory Grow Off-Leash Area is a popular spot for locals (but be aware, it’s usually very busy on the weekends). This downtown park is one of the nicest dog parks Salt Lake City has to offer.

While the area is not fenced, the park is a great place for pups to enjoy, as there are lots of trees and a peaceful creek to play in. It’s truly a fun hike for both you and your pup and one you won’t regret checking out.
