These Organizations Can Help With Your Vet Bills
Having a sick pet is every pet parent’s nightmare, especially when it is unexpected. And when you are trying to treat your pet and get them healthy again, the last thing you want to worry about is expenses. But, as we know, vet bills can be pricey, and far too many families often have to choose between their pet and their finances.
However, there is good news! The following organizations are dedicated to helping you put together payment plans and helping you find resources to cover the cost of Fido’s next trip to the vet.
The Pet Fund
This organization is there to provide help for non-urgent, non-basic pet care for dogs or cats. This could include heart disease, cancer, or other chronic illnesses. It does not include spaying or neutering procedures or life-threatening injuries.
You can apply for a one-time grant with a description of your pet’s condition.
Care Credit
Care Credit works like a credit card that can be used for routine pet care as well as emergency visits. You can pay upfront for big vet bills on a payment plan and if minimum payments are made on time, Care Credit will not charge interest.
Frankie’s Friends National Fund
This organization awards grants to families with dogs in need of emergency, lifesaving veterinary care for pets that would otherwise need to be relinquished or euthanized.
To qualify, your veterinarian must confirm that your dog has a good prognosis if given treatment and there are requirements for financial assistance.
Waggle Crowdfunding
Waggle is a crowdfunding website, much like GoFundMe, that is dedicated specifically to pet care. To start a campaign, you will answer a few questions about your pet’s situation, and then Waggle will work with your vet on a treatment cost estimate. Then, they will write a story about your pet and give you a link to share on social media.
No pet parents should have to deny their pet care due to financial strain. We hope one of these organizations can help you on the path to healing your pet.
