About Sit Means Sit Dog Training

Dog Training Classes

Any Dog Any Age Any Problem

One on One Training “Private Lessons”

Private lessons are beneficial for dogs of every age but we recommend that all dogs under the age of 6 months go through a set. It’s the perfect setup for new pups who are learning to navigate the world, distractions, other dogs, and life in general.

It’s vital that you get your dog’s training started while they’re young. Especially for the first sixteen weeks of their lives, your puppy is learning, growing, and developing habits. You want to make sure they’re good habits.

Day Stay and Train “Hybrid”

We created a “hybrid” option for those pet parents who are really busy but who still want to be involved in the training process. You can think of the Day Stay and Train Program as a combination of private lessons and boarding.

Here’s how it works: Choose the 3, 5, or 7-day program, then, once a week for your chosen amount of time, drop your dog off in the morning for 6-8 hours of training with our staff. Pickup is at the end of the day and comes with a session with one of the trainers where you will hear about everything that happened that day and learn how to maintain and nourish the training.

1 Week Board and Train Program

This is our premier dog training program that’s also our most efficient. Whether you’re heading out of town for vacation or your life is just too busy to accommodate training, Board and Train is the solution that will transform your dog over a short amount of time.

During their stay, your pet will experience tried and true dog training techniques from professional dog trainers every single day. Just one week can tackle simple things like fine-tuning or more complicated behavioral problems. Whatever your reason for choosing Board and Train, you will see the positive impact that a few days can have.

2 Week Board & Train Program

A 2-week stay is great for longer vacations and those problems that are a little beyond basic obedience. In this timeframe we can correct serious issues like aggression and deliver a happy, healthy pup to you at the end of it.

This program includes three private lessons with one of our trainers to help you feel confident in leading your dog towards their healthiest self.

3 Week Board & Train Program

This is our most prolonged dog training process. It’s an intense stay for both parties because it’s a long time to be apart, but rest assured that your dog will be confident, obedient, and healthy when they’re returned to you.

We can’t wait to work with you and your dog! Give us a call today to get the process started.

I have had dogs in my life since the day I was born and they have always been a passion of mine. I grew up watching the local K9 unit train in my family’s business warehouse. Watching these amazing dogs work sparked my interest in training.

I started working with our Denver Sit Means Sit location in 2006 and opened the South Denver location in 2009.

Since then I have competed in many different sports with my own dogs, and even gone on to compete at National and World Championships in Dock Dogs.

I really enjoy the experiences that I have had with my own dogs. My goal is to pass that onto all of my clients. I know what it is like to have a well behaved dog and all of the pleasures they bring to each and every day.

Hi I’m Tami! I’ve been working with South Denver Sit Means Sit since 2012! I love exploring with my husband, two kids and our dogs, Mia and Shadow. I’m the voice you hear when you call us.

I strive to match you with our trainers so you can have as much fun with your furry family members as we do with ours. My goal is to ensure you have a smooth and pleasant experience while obtaining training.

I have owned and loved dogs my entire life. In 2009 I became a client with Sit Means Sit while living in Highlands Ranch. My Golden Retriever, Bentley, had very high prey drive. He was jumping the back fence to chase the coyotes. Knowing this behavior was potentially life threatening to Bentley I sought out a training company to help me. When Jon showed up and demonstrated what Sit Means Sit could do for Bentley and me…I was hooked. I took full advantage of all the dog training that Jon and Sit Means Sit had to offer.

From that point forward the training and overall experience was so impactful, I decided to become a trainer. Today I am proud to share my personal experiences with the training program with our clients, and more importantly to help our clients achieve their training goals.

I was raised in a household with a diverse range of dog breeds, including German Shepherds, Doberman Pinchers, and Chihuahuas. This multi-dog environment allowed me to develop a keen understanding of canine body language from a young age. In my early twenties, I rescued my first dog and discovered my passion for rescuing and rehabilitating dogs. While working as a General Manager at a pizza shop, I honed my leadership skills. In 2020, I embarked on a professional dog training career, working at boarding facilities and with various training companies. This exposure enabled me to learn multiple training methods, including protection work.

Shortly after, I rescued my current dog, Remi, and trained him to become my loyal companion and service dog. In 2023, I joined Sit Means Sit’s South Denver location, where I was fortunate enough to rescue Geissele, a female Malinois. Through Sit Means Sit, I continue to expand my knowledge and experience in the world of dog training.

Dog Owners Reviews

We love customers and their dogs. They love us.

John M.

Jon and his team of trainers are excellent! In only three weeks we have seen a tremendous improvement in our young dog. After months of her escaping, chewing up everything in the house, and being unruly, Sit Means Sit has changed her behavior and ours. I cannot recommend their services enough.

Richard B.

Thank you Jon and crew. We get compliments all the time on how well behaved our malinois Ammo is. The training is phenomenal. Training a high energy breed like a malinois takes true talent.

Grant D.

Jon and everyone at Sit Means Sit were great! I am constantly complimented on how Gus interacts with other dogs and people. Jon and his team created a tailored approach to fit Gus’ breed and abilities. I would 100% recommend this group.

Tyler F.

Sit Means Sit has been incredible so far! Jon and his staff have done a phenomenal job so far, and have helped out our 9 month old goldendoodle tremendously. We had looked into multiple training classes prior to choosing Sit Means Sit, and was the clear choice for us. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
