The AKC Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility (S.T.A.R.) program is a six-week course designed to give your puppy the best possible start in life. Created to build a strong foundation in obedience and manners, this program focuses on helping your puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted companion.
The first 16 weeks of a puppy’s life are critical to their development, which is why our S.T.A.R. program emphasizes early socialization, positive experiences, and reward-based training. Our goal is to help your puppy feel comfortable in the world around them while learning essential skills in a fun, encouraging environment.
We offer this program bi-monthly to any puppies at or under the age of 4 months old when the course starts.
Group Class
*Available only for clients enrolled in a private lesson, day train, or board & train program. Not sold separately*
At Sit Means Sit Southern Arizona, we believe training should be fun, engaging, and ongoing. Once your dog has completed their initial training, our Group Classes become available to help maintain progress and continue building on everything your dog has learned.
We offer two types of group classes: Fundamentals and Train As You Live. Fundamentals classes focus on reinforcing core obedience skills around real-world distractions, helping solidify commands and improve reliability. Our Train As You Live classes take training a step further by practicing obedience in everyday scenarios—so your dog learns to listen not just in class, but in real life.
Both class options are designed to advance your dog’s obedience to the next level while providing valuable socialization around other dogs and people. It’s the perfect way to strengthen skills, build confidence, and keep training fun for both you and your dog.
GROUP CLASS CALENDARS ARE POSTED TO THE CLIENTS ONLY FACEBOOK GROUP. PLEASE EMAIL OR TEXT IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CLIENT AND NOT ON FACEBOOK
Dog Trainers & Staff
Professional trainers. Attentive friendly staff.
Brittany started out as a client for Sit Means Sit Southern Arizona back in June 2015. She began with her 7 year old American Eskimo Dog, Eskimo, who had some reactivity issues towards other dogs and constant door bolting.
Within a short few months of training, Eskimo was finally out of a muzzle and had total off-leash control around severe distractions.
From the dedication to the training system and wanting a better owner/dog lifestyle, Brittany was then hired on as a trainer in October 2015.
The rest from there was history. Brittany moved up from client, to apprentice trainer, to head trainer, and now owner. She trains in various dog sports, and loves trick training.
As the new career path/journey began, Brittany and Tyler’s family began to grow continuously. Once Eskimo was trained, they added 4 more dogs over the years.
•Aria, a pitbull who was trained as a Go Team Therapy/Crisis/Airport dog.
•Denali, a border collie working as her main demo dog. He loves tricks. He has competed in disc, agility, dock diving, fast cat and has various titles in AKC venues. He also loves protection/bite work .
•Makena, an Aussie mix working as a SD and holds titles in various AKC venues. She was a 1st Place Champion in NADD (North American Diving Dogs) Regionals, invited to NADD Nationals and there earned 8th Place [2021]
•Benelli, a Belgian Malinois, who will be taking over the demo dog position in the future. She is in training for PSA (Protection Sport Association), as well as dabbling in other dogs sports. She is a certified Go Team Therapy Dog.
Brittany is also a certified AKC Instructor/Evaluator, Certified Remote Collar Trainer, and Canine Conditioning Coach. Living with MS (multiple sclerosis) diagnosed in 2018; don’t let speed bumps in life, keep you from chasing your dreams.

My name is Melissa Morgan. I am one of the owners of Sit Means Sit Southern Arizona.
Growing up, my passion was never actually to work with dogs… instead I always knew I wanted to work with kids! I actually started my career as a preschool teacher in Southern California working with energetic toddlers after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education… which it turns out was the perfect stepping stone to working with spirited dogs!
I moved to Sierra Vista in June of 2018, and after a few months began working at a local daycare while spending ALL of my free time finding out how to best train and connect with my very first dog- Meatball, the Rottweiler.
I got involved with Sit Means Sit Southern Arizona as a client in their puppy class in 2018 with Meatball. As he got a bit older and a bit bigger, I quickly came back to get some help working on basic obedience. After working with Meatball for a few months, I had the opportunity to join the Sit Means Sit team and jumped right in.
Meatball taught me so much, not just in my professional life but my personal life as well. He gave me purpose after a big move, and helped me find my voice while going through a divorce. I shed tears and celebrated triumphs with this dog, all the way until he passed in June 2021 🖤 He was a part of my journey in finding my wonderful husband, Steven; gaining an amazing daughter; and now welcoming a baby boy into our family this year.
Sit Means Sit helped me give the best life to not only my dog but myself, as well… so when the opportunity to become a co-owner of this franchise I had come to love so much popped up, of course I jumped right in!
And of course, I couldn’t be the dog trainer I am without adding a few more pups into our pack!
Nugget, my female Rottweiler, has attended my 3-week E-Collar Training School and has joined the GoTeam Therapy Dogs. She is a social butterfly who loves to be given a job to do.
Peaches, my Saint Bernard, is a bubbly girl who came to us at about 5 months old. Her favorite thing is to wag her helicopter tail while saying hello to everyone she meets… after being told to go say hi, of course!
And then there is Nacho, my pit bull-chihuahua mix. He’s a spitfire personality that came out of his shell after working through some anxious behaviors learned as a puppy.
Lastly, our couch potato Tulip- my chihuahua-dachshund mix who could happily spend all day chasing her tail and cuddling with the kiddos. She learned how to walk on a leash with us, even though her favorite place to be is still the bottom compartment of the baby stroller.
My family thrives in a household where our dogs are given outlets for their drive and energy, but can also be wonderfully behaved family dogs as well. We love to go for family walks- or you might just see me, all the pups, and a stroller in the mornings! I thank Sit Means Sit for giving me a household where my kids can grow up enjoying and loving their relationships with our dogs, and where I can easily teach my dogs to respect all of the people in our household.

Dog Owners Reviews
We love customers and their dogs. They love us.
The staff at Sit Means Sit are outstanding professionals. They are always available to take a call or text to help through a rough spot in the training or to offer advice. It is obvious to me that they care as much about my dog as I do, and that’s a lot. I recommend them…
We took our 6 month old Irish Setter puppy to Sit Means Sit to socialize her. We had forgotten how hard living with a puppy can be. Sit means Sit helped us give Calie the opportunity to become socialized and to learn some basic commands. Calie arrived as a very shy not willing to play…
Highly recommend Sit Means Sit! I now have a behaved puppy! They taught me all I need to know to raise a great pup! Thank you!
Sit Means Sit totally changed our dog for the better. He was out of control after we rescued him and had a lot of problems, but it turned out he just needed some guidance. He is a completely different dog now; he is confident, happy, well-behaved, and just a pleasure to be around. We will…
