Are Dogs Allowed in Las Vegas Casinos?

“Sin City,” “Gambling Capital of the World,” “Entertainment Capital of the World,” and so on, and so forth. Known by many names, Las Vegas is a renowned vacation spot for families, dog owners, locals, tourists, and everyone else! If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, you could very well be wondering if your furry family members will be welcome.

If you’re in that boat, we have good news for you. Vegas is a dog-friendly city! They not only have dog-friendly outdoor spaces, as well as a designated outdoor dog park on every corner, but most casinos offer pet-friendly amenities to owners who are willing to follow a few rules and guidelines.

Where is my Dog Allowed on the Las Vegas Strip?

As far as hotels and casinos go, you will not be lacking options. Caesars Palace, Paris, the Planet Hollywood resort, Flamingo, Harrah’s, Bally’s Rio, and more are all a part of the PetStay casino program. This program is incredible for finding dog-friendly rooms that are dependable, clean, and nearby to a casino. Several of these locations even have their own casino floor! When we said “dog-friendly city,” we meant it. Vegas has gone above and beyond to welcome pet owners.

Here is a more in-depth look at some of these hotel and casino options:

Caesars Palace

If you know of Vegas, you know of Caesars Palace. It’s located between the iconic Bellagio and The Mirage. It gives visiting pups top-notch treatment and a killer view of the west side Strip. This particular luxury hotel and casino is a part of the PetStay program that we mentioned above. Your stay will include a welcome packet with directions to the pet relief areas, in-room amenities such as a food mat, bowls, dog treats, and waste bags, dog walking routes, and nearby dog services such as grooming and walking. If you do plan on leaving your dog in your room, be sure to ask the receptionist about renting a crate, as unattended animals are not allowed.

This kind of stay is available for an additional $100 a night and a $100 refundable deposit per night. It covers up to two dogs, no more than 50 pounds each.

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino

Bring your furry best friend along for the ride and stay at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Your dogs can breathe in the desert air in the outdoor pet walk and relief area, or they can enjoy dinner with you when you order from the expansive room service menu. This resort has set itself apart by offering a Buddy Box that has treats, a bandana, and toys to keep your bestie happy and entertained.

They’re a little more expensive than Caesar’s Palace, but they offer enough to back it up. For two dogs that have a combined weight of no more than 100 pounds, Mandalay requires an additional fee of $150 per pet per night.

It’s a very luxurious, pet-friendly scene. While you enjoy a cocktail at the bar, your dog can rest comfortably in your room, and, for a small fee, a member of the hotel staff is happy to walk up and check on your travel companion. They’ll even send a text message with a picture to confirm that your buddy is in the best spirits!

Dog-Friendly Hotels

Bellagio Hotel

The Bellagio Hotel is in the heart of The Strip. It’s celebrated for its bright, lively atmosphere and luxurious amenities. The fountains out front add to the overall ambiance of life and celebration.

In the scene of pet-friendly hotels, the Bellagio is the perfect mix of luxury and escape. Their rooms are designed to offer amazing views and premium comfort. The sophisticated designs, elegant furnishings, and earth-bound accents reflect the inspiration, which is Lake Como in Italy.

Vegas guests and their pets love to bask in the grandeur of the Bellagio. For one dog (up to 40 pounds) or two dogs (up to a combined weight of 75 pounds), there is a standard fee of $125 per night for standard rooms and $175 per night for suites.

Horseshoe Las Vegas

The Horseshoe Las Vegas is a great place to stay where you and your pet can bond over the beauty and excitement of Vegas. They do have a few more rules, so pay close attention.

PetStay rooms cannot be booked online or in person. The only way to book a PetStay room is to call their phone number. They accept two dogs up to 50 pounds each for $75 per night as well as a $100 refundable deposit (also per night). Dogs cannot be left unattended, which means they must be in a crate that you get from reception. Cats are not allowed.

There is a pet relief area on the property that’s clean, happy, and welcoming. The Horseshoe may seem like it has a few more restrictions, but it makes up for it in views and atmosphere. All in all, it’s a great place to spend your Vegas vacation!

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan welcomes dogs of any size, but there is a limit of two per room, and proof of vaccinations is required. The fee is $100 per room per night (that number does not include taxes). If you want to leave your dog in your room for a quick outing, they must be kenneled.

Now that all the business is handled, know that you can look forward to a PupJoy gift box from the Cosmopolitan! It includes natural dog treats, an eco-friendly toy, a collapsible water bowl, and a pee pad! They want to see you and your dog have the best possible time at their hotel.

Excalibur

Excalibur has set itself apart with their dog-sitting services. You can leave your dog unattended if they are kenneled and housekeeping is aware, but if that’s not an option you favor, you have another resource. Dog sitting services can be arranged by the concierge staff. This is wonderful if you plan on spending the entire day out and you don’t have the capability to take your dog with you. You can leave them at the hotel, knowing full well that they will be loved and cared for by an attentive and experienced staff.

Their fees are $50 per night for standard rooms and $100 per night for suites. They do have an extra fee if you are bringing two dogs. The dogs are allowed to be any size, but they must not exceed a combined weight of 100 pounds.

Dog Parks in Las Vegas

Most of the hotels on the Strip are dog-friendly, and some of them have their own designated dog parks. But, beyond that, there are many dog parks in the city of Las Vegas where you and your pup can stretch your legs. The one nearest the Strip is the Charlie Frias Park on Decatur Boulevard. There is also Sunset Park south of the airport.

What are the Guidelines?

PetStay resorts have a few policies and guidelines that pet owners and their canine guests must follow.

  • Dogs are the only animals allowed.
  • 50 pounds is max per dog
  • Two dogs are max per room
  • Dogs are only allowed in designated common areas when leashed
  • If unattended in your hotel room, your dog must be in a kennel
  • Kennels are available for rent
  • Other amenities, such as food and water dishes, are available

Other Dog-Friendly Activities

There are things to do beyond the hotels and casinos. Meadows Mall and Boulevard Mall are both dog-friendly shopping experiences on The Strip! You can visit restaurants, go to parks, get outside the Strip and go for a hike, or simply take it all in with a walk around town.
