Chewie needs a home!
“Chewie” is a 6 year old, neutered male, Blue Heeler, up to date on shots, heartworm, flea/tick meds (annual vet due in early May). MUST BE placed in a home that DOES NOT have small children, cats or small animals! He does get along with larger dogs, is house-broken, crate trained, some obedience training, does well off the leash however would do well to be in a fenced area – will chase ground animals and birds. Also, he will allow you to do his toenails with a grinder once he trusts you.
He needs a patient dog parent that will give him the time to adjust to his new situation and people. He does best with people who will work with him and not force themselves on him. When pushed to adjust quickly, his response is to hide and do a low growl – has not bitten in response.
He has a skin condition that can flare up at different times of the year called Seborrhea – it is not allergies. When it flares up it is best managed with regular bathing using medicated shampoo and ear cleaner (will include prescription shampoo from vet). It is also best to keep him on a grain free diet with this condition (bag of food and cans included).
“Chewie” absolutely loves to go jogging with you, cuddle, play Frisbee, play ball and play in the water (does require a life vest if in water). If you have a Chuck-it he will be your friend for forever!
Will include his rabies certificate, shot records, toys (has a couple he cannot go without), blankets, beds, collars, medicated shampoo, bag of his grain free dog food and a few cans of dog food.
