Hometown Hero’s!!

This post is very special to us for a lot of reasons. Being able to witness two heroic occupations come together for even more common good is just so beautiful, it makes our hearts smile, there is not enough of this shown in the world today! The incredible Syracuse Fire Fighters Local 280 were generous enough to support the Burn Foundation of CNY and Upstate Foundation’s, fundraise enough money for them to purchase a life-changing scar laser therapy system for the Clark Burn Center at Upstate University Hospital here in Syracuse NY! With this piece of equipment in their hospital, the doctors and surgeons are now able to make an even bigger difference in the quality of life and well-being of children and adult survivors of burn & traumatic injury!

Another big reason this specific post is so special to us is because our client Joan, is one of those surgeons (pictured in this post) who will be able to improve the lives of many, with this piece of equipment! She is a Medical Director for the Clark Burn Center at Upstate University Hospital. Joan owns a very high energy, fun and lovable black lab named Bagheera but also has a crazy, fast paced job that constantly keeps her on her toes! Bagheera is that stress relief that Joan needs at the end of her busy days to calm and relax her! Bagheera participated in our Day Train Program and did a great job! Joan we commend you for all of your hard work not only in the hospital but also with the training you and Bagheera completed with us!
