Testimonials

We did a lot of research for different types of training and chose to have a consultation with Sit Means Sit because it seemed to align most with our lifestyle and the environment we wanted to create with and for our Aussie/Blue Heeler puppy. Steve came out and spent over an hour with us, explained our options, and really gave us some things to consider in choosing the right package for our dog and budget. We actually took over a month to decide, while trying to do it ourselves with the help of google and input from family and friends. Nothing was working to stop her jumping, stealing things, and nipping at everything that moved. Her “puppy biting” ended up causing the need for my 17 year old daughter to get stitches and we were at the point where I actually thought there is no way this dog will stop, it’s her breed. So I called Steve again…and he came up with a plan for us.

Our puppy is now 6 months, we just completed our third private lesson, and we are so happy! After one lesson she was responding to the positive reinforcement, but Lesson 2 was literally a life changer. Using the techniques Steve taught us, she stopped jumping, stealing and biting…Steve’s training style is gentle, positive, and easy to understand. The decision to invest in this training has already paid off and we feel it has made a big difference for our family. The best thing is, this is only after three weeks! We are excited to see where we’ll be by Summer.

Our Labradoodle, Mikey, was so hyper and out of control until we met Steve, with Sit Means Sit. Mikey has been transformed into a different dog since the training with Steve. We would highly recommend giving him a call if you need dog training. He is the best and we are so happy to have a well-mannered dog. Mikey still needs some work, but we have the knowledge on how to work with him positively. Steve is the best and we are so glad we found him. Thanks for all you have done for us and Mikey!

When I started training, my dog created chaos whenever someone, friend or stranger, came to the door. Our walks consisted of her dragging me along and reacting to every dog we encountered. She now greets people calmly, walks by my side on a loose leash and will only greet another dog when given permission. She recently earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

SIT Means Sit is an excellent training program and Steve is an excellent trainer, providing encouragement and support to the dog owners, keeping us motivated when our dogs are stubborn and we seeming(ly) hit a brick wall. If you want to improve your dog’s behavior and your relationship with your dog give Steve a call.

Before Sit Means Sit, we couldn’t take our dog to the river, a park, almost anywhere! We became so frustrated and actually quit going places with her because she would chase wildlife. Now, she listens and even when she is not on leash, we know she will come when called. We still have some work to do, but now we have the tools we need and our dog will be safe. Call Steve today! You won’t regret it!

Steve is a miracle worker! Our Blue Heeler/Lab Mix Effie, was a wild, excitable, no space bubble, extremely friendly, jumping on you, nearly untrainable/controllable nine month old pup…Effie was the first dog ever that we had no success training as we had with all our dogs/pups in the past. We tried every training technique to stop her jumping up on people or into their laps and basic obedience we knew in addition to on-line training techniques for Blue Heelers.

When we got Effie back from her stay with Steve, she was so well behaved that one could almost say we had a different dog…Steve is an awesome trainer of dogs, other critters and especially their people and the Sit Means Sit approach to training is the best method I have ever used. Effie is a year old now and Dave and I continue to enjoy attending every group session we can!
