We really enjoyed our time with Sit Means Sit. Excellent instruction, detailed training drills, and an enjoyable atmosphere. We look forward to participating in future group training very soon! Highly recommend for dogs of all needs and breeds.

We did their day train program with our new 3 year old lab pointer mix who had no training whatsoever and was raised in a puppy mill (she wasn’t potty trained or anything). I was amazed at the difference after just the first day. She improved so quickly. The trainers also really helped with answering questions during the training process and helped us understand good tips that helped us carryover her newly learned skills at home. We’re super excited to start the group training classes now!

We recently worked with Taylor with our new Goldendoodle Lily. Taylor was such an amazing trainer; she is very knowledgeable and patient. This is our second family dog that has been trained with Sit Means Sit and I would 100% recommend them. We have had other family members who have also trained with SMS and we all feel the same. Training with them makes your dog so much more enjoyable.

Brought my Labrador wrangler there for Day Training and I couldn’t be any happier with how his training went. He was having a lot of issues before I brought him there that was making it extra tough to build that strong bond with him, now he’s a brand new dog and being around him makes me so happy and proud to see how far he has come. Thank you Sit Means Sit. I’ll be recommending you guys all the time!

My fiancé and I recently adopted a pit bull mix and she was hot and cold with other dogs. Michelle was our trainer for the personal lessons and within just two lessons our Penny was so much better! We have just started group classes and they’re great as well. This trainer was also the absolute best bang for our buck. What we are paying for 11 training sessions is equal to what some other highly rated trainers were going to charge us for 4 lessons. We will be getting another dog in the future as well and bringing them here to be trained.

I purchased a deaf Dalmatian puppy in January 2019, not knowing she was deaf. After my children and I fell madly in love with her, we discovered she could not hear. After seeing Sit Means Sit’s demonstration at the Cleveland Home and Garden Show, and then again at the Akron Home and Garden Show, I knew they were the help that we needed. We sent our sweet girl to there Copley location for a week and when we picked her up she was like a completely different dog! They have the most amazing staff. They are professional, kind, patient, and Penny had so much fun there! We just had our first in home lesson today and it was so helpful. The investment was more than I wanted to spend on the front side, but I can confidently say that I already know it was worth every cent. I highly recommend their services!

Atticus is a loving dog but had a resource guarding problem. Anything that hit the floor was his and would not give back. We bribed him with cheese, salami any snack to get the object back even a piece of paper. He would growl and we got bit too many times . He has anxiety issues and was herding our house. We could not leave anything out remotes blankets pillows phones. He tried to take so we could basically play his game get the object I get a treat. We were rewarding bad behavior. We had a few in house trainers but it just did not work with positive reinforcement. We were desperate to have a safe environment in our home. We had a few friends that went to Sit Means Sit and had great outcome. So we are overjoyed with the results and how great the collar works for him. Our home is such a better safer environment. Atticus is so awesome. He learned the go command when things get dropped and our fear is gone. He almost does not care anymore about objects now. We can leave pillows and blankets on furniture he does not bother them. We can put the remote down on table and he won’t bother it. Atticus is a new improved dog. Our family is so thankful for the program we went through and now he enjoys group classes.

I had two crazy pups that I signed up for the private & group training classes. We opt to have the private lessons at their facility for the discount but I’m so glad we did because they were able to learn so much better than they would’ve at home. There were people/dogs/other distractions & our dogs still listen so much better than they did before. After only 3 lessons they’re doing so much better & I’m so excited to continue working with them & seeing their progress. We couldn’t have done this without the amazing team at the Akron location. I would highly recommend them for any looking to train their dogs, regardless of their current ability. Taylor was calm & very personable. We really enjoyed working with her (& the pups loved her too) we’re excited for our group classes to see how they do.

Luna needed to learn to learn to come when asked as she thought everything was just a fun game. The training that Luna received was excellent. Luna comes and sits when asked. Our family can eat dinner in peace because Luna will sit in the kitchen and not try to jump up on the table. She will sit in her place and has much more control.

Apollo had been surrendered to us by his previous owners. He didn’t have any training, vet visits, or socializing with people or other animals. He is trying to be a good boy and is very loyal. He is protective of his new family but sometimes just likes to sit alone and rest. The training has helped him to focus more on simple commands and not get in a uncontrollable mode. Apollo and his sister Luna are getting along much better living in the same house. Apollo is about 3 and Luna is only a year so she has that puppy energy. The play time doesn’t get rough and is settling down after the board and training. Some peace in our house now:)

With two toddlers in the house, Gaston needed to learn boundaries and to be obedient. His play biting was out of control and didn’t understand why he couldn’t bite the kids’ hands if they wave them in front of him. On Gaston’s graduation day, he showed many signs of improvement. One thing we noticed right away was his play biting was completely gone. He also drops the kids toys on the first command; we used to have to wrestle the toys from his mouth. I can also unload the kids or the groceries and he stands nicely at the door patiently waiting. You cannot put a price on my peace of mind.

We sent our dog Ozzy to Sit Means Sit in Copley. I was skeptical honestly about seeing improvement, and not because of the ability of the trainers, but I guess I doubted my dog’s ability to be what I feel is obedient. I am happy to report that from the second we saw him on his graduation day, I noticed right away that there had been positive change. It’s been 2 weeks since that day, and he has been getting better the more we work with him. He have had 1 at home session which was more than helpful, we got to see with the training the exact reaction we needed to in order to change his behavior. I can not say enough good things. Really great trainers, great facility and great follow up. Not a cut rate business. It is expensive, however you can’t put a price on training for both dog and owner. I know I needed the work and they did not make me or my wife feel stupid in any way. If you are considering doing this, go ahead, be realistic in what you expect and do all the follow up work. Training is a daily thing and if you have a problem pooch this is a much needed lifestyle change.

We brought Charleigh to Sit-Means-Sit after some research and recommendations from friends. We wanted her to sharpen up before we moved into a new house and started talking about having kids. She has always had tons of energy and was always very smart and learned quickly we just needed the right way to hone and focus her into something productive. After our first 3 lessons we noticed an immediate change in her, she was focused and relaxed, it was like she figured out how to win the game and was extremely relieved. We look forward to all the great things she is going to do, and we cannot thank the staff at SMS enough!

Definitely need to brag about Jake. I was originally nervous bringing Jake to Thanksgiving dinner. It’s just so hard to tell how they’re gonna act with all the food and people around and this was Jake’s first Thanksgiving. It’s one thing for me to be able to control Jake at my own home but bringing him out in public w/ new people, smells and factors changes everything! BUT he did so amazing!! He didn’t jump on a single person and sat next to me the entire time. You wouldn’t have ever known there was a dog of his size/age in the room. He got so many compliments and people were shocked that a 5 month old German Shepherd wasn’t running around terrorizing the house, begging, and attempting to steal food from children and off people’s plates. Sending Jake to Sit Means Sit Cleveland-Akron was the best thing I could’ve done and it’s such a great feeling to be able to relax and enjoy events/holidays and not have to leave my fur baby locked up at home. You can either let your dog control your life or take charge and be able to enjoy life together! It’s amazing what some obedience training will do for both of your lives.

We got Fred and Ethel when they were 3 months old from a foster family for and we did not want to separate them so we took them both. They are inseparable and always have to be with each other. They both were jumpers, excessive barkers, horrible to walk, and only wanted to listen when they wanted to. They both just came home from a week training program and are like night and day from before their stay. When we received their training video after a couple days there we could not believe that these were our dogs. They have come along way in the weeks time. We are going to continue with the group classes and working with them at home.

I had been trying to train my puppy on my own for months with no results! She had what we call “the puppy crazies” where she literally went crazy with a giant burst of energy! One week in training and she came home to be the perfect pup! She still had all her energy but now we had tools to be able to control and divert the energy! Excited to see what the group classes are going to be like that they provide. 12/10 would recommend!

Milli’s been home a week now and is doing great! Life is so much better with a well behaved dog! The kids enjoy being able to play with her with out the jumping a biting and my wife loves being able to take her out without getting her arm pulled off when another dog walks by! We have our first home visit Monday can’t wait for our first group class! Definitely one of the best investments I have ever made!

THANK YOU Sit Means Sit and especially Michelle for helping us understand Razzle’s feelings and actions and teaching us all how to communicate. We always knew there was a smart, loving pup in Razzle but we didn’t know how to help him control his impulses. Michelle was informative, inquisitive and patient with us [and our daughter too] as she taught us to work with Razzle. He is in group classes now and we are so proud of his progress. We would recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone with a dog.

We were recommended Sit Means Sit from our vet. When the trainer came out for the consultation it took about 3 minutes of work and Jemma was like a new dog. Focused and well behaved. We decided on the board and train because Jemma was to much for me to handle and did not want to listen to any commands. We are now in group lessons working on focus control and trying to not get distracted. Chelsea and Michelle have been amazing and always answer every question. Their guidance has been life changing. Looking forward to continue the work and help Jemma stay amazing!

I would definitely recommend Sit means Sit. My dog stayed for a board and train program. She came back a much calmer and well behaved dog. Everyone there was super nice and explained everything to me before and after. I felt very comfortable leaving Shelby there for the week and also got an awesome video of her training.

Before I took my FOUR dogs to SMS, I went looked at their reviews. Not all were great, which is expected, but something I respect is that even the negative reviews were responded to by the owner. So here is my take: If you have a bad experience there, it’s probably on you. I can’t say that as a definite but their system works but it’s on YOU to make sure when you go home with your pet that you continue to follow the same instructions for many weeks to come. That was the part I was more worried about but after a day or two of doing it over and over, it became second nature and this week, I had four friends over at different times and every one of them said “Where are your dogs?” They were so quiet and obedient which was a night and day difference to before. I used to call them “psychopaths” for how much they barked and went nuts when people came over. Now they are NOT perfect but they have only been home for a month and we constantly work on it. The great thing is, since they have been home, SMS has been out twice for over 1.5 hours each time just to check up and answer questions and fine tune the things I may have forgotten, and they LOVE doing it. I will never get a dog in the future without taking them to SMS early on in their life with me.

My 90lb chocolate lab had severe reactivity when it came to strangers. I could only walk him at night or when it was storming/snowing to avoid people. I previously tried clicker training with my lab, with only slight improvements. I wanted him to be able to enjoy going to the park and taking walks without being afraid of everything and scaring people with his aggressive sounding barking. Within the first three sessions of training and practice at home, I have been able to walk him in daylight without my previous fears about his behavior. I am so grateful to Kevin, Michelle, and Sal for helping me and my lab begin this journey successfully.
