Leaving your dog in the car is extremely dangerous and leaving them in a cold car only puts your dog at greater risk of harm or death. Just like cars can hold hot temperatures in the summer, they also lock in cold temperatures in the winter months. If you absolutely must leave your dog in the car, there are a few precautionary measures that you should take to keep your dog safe. Only leave them alone for a few minutes at the most. Bring some blankets for them to lie down in the car and stay warm. You should also leave windows cracked so there’s enough ventilation for your pup to breathe comfortably. You may also consider getting an insulated kennel that can keep your dog warm and comfortably situated in the car. Bring water if possible to keep your dog hydrated while you’re gone.
