Our Favorite Dog Parks in Fort Collins
Fort Collins dog parks are, in our opinion, underrated. You might not have even realized it yet, but there are trails to hike, ponds to swim in, and endless things to sniff! You’ve been taking the same half-mile loop since you moved here, when you could have been exploring, taking in the sunshine, and building lifelong memories with your pup.
Dog parks are good for several reasons. Not only are they a change of pace, but they also present great opportunities to meet other dog owners and their pets. They make exercise interesting and fun. Often, local dog parks will have amenities that you don’t have in your backyard, such as fountains or poop receptacles.
One of the best things a dog park does is allow you to work on or reinforce training. Professional training is a lot of work, and once you have it down, you don’t want to sacrifice it. By visiting dog parks, you’re allowing your dog to be in situations where you both can practice what you’ve learned.

Soft Gold Dog Park

If you’ve been looking for an off-leash dog park, look no further! This one acre of land may sound small, but it’s ample space for dogs to run, fetch, or train. There aren’t any amenities besides one picnic table, so make sure you come prepared with plenty of water and snacks if you’re planning to stay long.
The Soft Gold Dog Park is a quiet, natural place to get in some bonding time with your pup without having them six feet from you at all times. If you do feel like leaving the fully fenced dog park, you’ll quickly find that Soft Gold Park has a lot more to offer. There is walking, a BMX pump track, and even sand volleyball courts.
Fossil Creek Dog Park

When it comes to a list of the best dog parks in the area, we couldn’t leave Fossil Creek off the list. This is another off-leash area that’s larger than some of the smaller dog parks in the area, giving you more than enough room to play, even when others are around.
What sets the Fossil Creek community park apart is that there are two areas: One for bigger dogs and one for small and shy dogs. This works well because dog owners are given the opportunity to have discretion when it comes to who they want their pup interacting with. It could be that your dog isn’t ready to socialize with the big boys, and that’s completely fine. The goal in going to a dog park is to have fun, so let’s make sure everyone involved is comfortable.
Drinking fountains and restrooms are never far away, so stay as long as you like. Kick back, get comfortable, and make those memories.
Spring Canyon Dog Park

This gem is one that not even the locals might know about. It’s nestled in against the foothills of western Fort Collins, giving it a beautiful, natural glow. Spring Canyon Park has a dog park that’s spacious and welcoming, but it also has a skate park, a tennis court, and a playground, so that no matter who you come to the park with, there’s something for everyone. This park also serves as an easy access point for Cottonwood Glen Neighborhood Park and Pine Ridge Natural Area.
The dog park portion is special because it’s 2-3 acres of mental stimulation and amenities. There is a large seasonal pond, as well as cement tube structures for play, and dedicated spaces for large and small dogs. You can take part in the picnic tables and benches, trash bins, water fountains, and waste bags.
Twin Silo Dog Park

Twin Silo Dog Park is the newest in the Fort Collins community. It has two real silos from the area that are integrated into the park as a celebration of the rich farming history that is a part of Fort Collins.
This park is the perfect place to bring your furry friend when you’re ready to let go of the leash and let them get all their wiggles out. It’s only an acre, but the locals are friendly, and the dogs are happy to make friends. The park is free and welcoming to anyone looking to get some fresh air and exercise. As a side note… Twin Silos also has four permanent pickleball courts that are free to use and reserved.
