Derby: I have a very important job to do in May!

Breed: Portuguese Water Dog

Likes:  Play with other dogs (park or daycare).

Pet Peeves: Can’t control energy, jumps on people, nips with mouth.

Favorite Toy: Anything he can work on to try and tear apart.

Favorite Treat:  Any people food especially peanut butter.

Best Trick:   Sit comes most easily.

Arrival Story: Upon picking Derby up from the breeder, Chris had Heidi’s engagement ring around Derby’s neck.  Chris proposed that day, and Derby will be the ring bearer in our wedding in May 2015.

Bio:  Derby is a very sweet-tempered, friendly, happy dog.  He loves playing with everyone, and he learns quickly.  However, we often have to wear him out with playtime before he is ready to focus & learn.  He has a hard time controlling his energy, and we struggle to know how to help him with this.  In addition to training Derby to stay focused at the wedding in May, we would like to get him into water and agility training to give him a sense of purpose and joy.
