Excitable Pit Bull (Staffordshire Terrier) Turned To a Great Part of the Family

Should I Train My Staffordshire Terrier?

Clients Name Kamryn

Dogs Name Nala

City: Janesville

Why did you decide to have your dog(s) professionally trained?: She didn’t have finesse. If the door was open she was trying to make a break for it. If somebody came over she would get so excited that she would jump up to greet them. For some reason people are intimidated by 65lbs of lunging pit bull. Our children looked forward to walking Nala but she pulled so hard that it was impossible to enjoy taking her for a walk. We had taught her lots of tricks and she is a quick learner. Our main problem? What she needed to know, we didn’t know how to teach her. It was impacting our ability to enjoy her and her ability to enjoy her little puppy life.

What has your dog(s) accomplished since starting training with Sit Means Sit?: She has the ability to sit and focus on a task. We have removed the baby gates that kept her downstairs and simply tell her it’s off limits now and she stays out of the bedrooms. When the door bell rings we put her in ‘place’ and deal with the door while she calmly waits. We can walk her without being pulled down the street. She isn’t sidelined by every distraction or noise. Nala now greets guests by enthusiastically wagging her tail and sitting, taking her cues from us. In just a few weeks she has curbed her negative behaviors and replaced them with great skills that allow us all to enjoy her so much more! Thanks Sit Means Sit!!
