Wirehaired Terrier

Your Name: Elizabeth
Dogs Name: Waylon
City: Madison 53703
Breed: Wirehaired Terrier
Where did you get your Baby from: Dog Rescue
Likes: Waylon likes to greet people in the lobby or elevator of our building. He also loves to play chase at the dogpark. Few dogs are fast enough to catch him!
Pet Peeves: Waylon doesn’t like to wait for red lights. He also whines when he can’t find a good place to hide his favorite bone.
Favorite toy?: His favorite toy is a squeaky Where’s Waldo doll. He likes to tear Waldo’s clothes off.
Favorite treat?: Peanut butter.
Best Trick: Waylon can sit, lay down, and shake. The best trick is when we tell him to find our car in a big parking lot. He sniffs it out and walks right to it.
Arrival Story: I found Waylon on petfinder. He was a stray dog in Alabama who was rescued around age 5 or 6 months. He drifted from shelter to shelter across several states until he was 1, and then I adopted him. It was love at first sight.
Motto: Waylon’s middle name is “sprinkles” because he pees on everything when he is outside.
Why Training/ Sit Means Sit: I wanted to learn how to help Waylon walk on a leash without pulling and in general be a happy and safe dog. Group classes didn’t work because Waylon gets so excited to see other dogs he can’t focus on learning commands. I liked Sit Means Sit because Jayson is so passionate about what he does and he’s an expert in terriers.
