What our customers had to say about their experience with Sit Means Sit.

We have two dogs – 5 and 6 year old lab mix and lab/pit mix, which we got shortly before having children. We have progressively had more issues with them as the years have gone on; we call the lab/pit a “bull in a china shop”.
They listened every once in a while, but not consistently. Sometimes they were calm, but other times they were out of control. We would put them in our basement whenever we ate because of them begging at the table, or literally jumping on the table after we stepped away to try to get food scraps. Always in the basement when we had company.
They would growl at each other when eating, even if in separate rooms. Once my lab/pit growled at me, and that’s when I decided it was time to finally find something. However, my husband works long hours, and I have 2 young kids with another on the way, so we have very little time to commit to training. I was overwhelmed thinking about how to get our dogs under control, but knew that giving them away would be our absolute last resort.
I found Sit Means Sit, and met Josh, and was immediately impressed with how he interacted with our dogs. He proposed either 3 individual days with 3 lessons afterward, or a 6 day intensive with 3 lessons spread out afterward. We chose the 6 day option because it worked better with our schedule.
I am amazed. They just got home 3 days ago, and we only have had one of the 3 lessons, but we have different dogs now. I honestly never thought we would have “good” dogs who actually listen. The lab/pit would run out the front door if my toddler opened it, and usually would come back on his own terms, never would listen to me if I said “come”. We are still working on them sitting and not crossing the boundary to go outside, but they’re making great progress. Nevertheless, he did in fact run out front yesterday. However, as I used the tools and told him to “come”, he was back inside within 30 seconds. They now lay on their beds while we eat, and don’t jump on the table afterwards. I am significantly less worried about one of them plowing over one of my little kids. And, they still have their crazy loving personalities.
I only wish I knew about this sooner, as the dogs had been increasingly adding more and more stress to our lives. We truly enjoy them again, which is such a blessing. Thank you Josh!!

I had a fantastic experience with Sit Means Sit Dog Training, thanks to Josh! He did an exceptional job training my mini Australian Shepherd puppy. From the start, Josh was friendly, accommodating, and truly dedicated to helping us.
He boarded my dog for five days, providing excellent care, and then came to our home to reinforce the training. We even had training sessions in a busy local area, which really helped my puppy get used to other dogs and people.
Josh’s expertise and approach made all the difference. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit for anyone looking to train their dog!

I couldn’t recommend this training enough. I’ve done basic obedience training before, but my pup Fiona still struggled with pulling and staying focused, especially around other dogs. After just one full day, her pulling improved significantly, and I was able to keep her attention and manage her much more reliably. By the final day, she could walk into a dog store full of treats and remain calm and controlled, even when another dog came within a foot of her. This would have been impossible before the training. I’m now far more confident handling Fiona and trust her enough to take her on many more adventures together.

We’ve had a great experience with Sit Means Sit Dog Training, especially with our trainer, Josh. He has worked wonders with our dog and we see noticeable improvement in his responsiveness after each training session.
Josh has a calm, respectful approach and earned our trust quickly—something that doesn’t come easily, especially to my dog. The training felt thoughtfully customized, never one-size-fits-all. Josh is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and patient with all of us.
I highly recommend Josh and Sit Means Sit to anyone looking for real results from a trainer who truly understands dogs.

Sit Means Sit has changed my out of control lab, Zoey, into a well-behaved dog. She pulled on a leash so badly that I couldn’t even take her for walks. After only one week, she was heeling off leash and right by my side. It was amazing! Now I enjoy hikes, walks, and other outings with her. I truly believe that Sit Means Sit can train any dog.

I am so pleased and impressed with Sit Means Sit in general. My Aussie puppy did a three week board-and-train since my work schedule limited my ability to go to group classes. They were very understanding and did an excellent job of explaining every aspect of their training methods, their e-collar, and were very open to questions. I met with a number of different trainers and every single one was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The difference in my puppy is incredible. She listens (the collar really helps), she doesn’t bite me as I walk by, and she doesn’t bark for attention. For the go-home lessons, the trainers I met with were very patient with me as I learned how to work with her, explained the e-collar and its use in detail, and gave me pointers on how to work with specific challenges I was having. Excellent service, very pleased with the results, money well spent. Sit Means Sit is my go-to for dog training because of their quality work and friendly staff.

We took our two pitbulls to Sit Means Sit for training. Sit Means Sit did a wonderful job training our dogs. Kileaux was always easily distracted and Nikita was a rambunctious puppy. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us how to work with our dogs on continued training.
It is hard to find companies that will work with pitbull puppies, let alone full grown 115+ lb pitbulls. However, Sit Means Sit never failed to make my dogs feel loved and welcomed – which was an added bonus to the amazing quality of training we received. I will absolutely be referring Sit Means Sit to friends and family!

Sit Means Sit’s training program has seriously been one of the best investments I have ever made. I picked my dog, Biggie, up last week and the changes in her behavior and previous aggression have been unbelievable! She’s a better listener, less territorial, and just an all around better behaved and happier dog!
My dog has been able to get off of her very strong anti-anxiety medication and live a better life because of the trainers at Sit Means Sit. Her quality of life, as well as mine and that of my family’s is infinitely better and for that I will be forever grateful!
Thank you Sit Means Sit for changing Biggie’s life! She looks forward to more group training and I will recommend y’all to everyone I know!
