Plants benefit you and your dog’s health unless your furry friend starts eating the leaves or chewing on branches. Keep reading to learn what common plants are unsafe for your home and how to keep Fido away!

Keeping Fido Away

While moving the plants is one way to fix the problem, other solutions include training Fido to stay away or spraying your plants with doggy-proof spray!

Like teaching your pup to potty outside, you can train them to stay away from your leafy friends. We recommend a clicker or a water spritzer for training; every dog learns differently. When you catch them getting too close to the plants, emit a clicking noise or give a little water spray to deter them from the behavior.

Another option is to make some dog repellant spray using lemon juice or vinegar. Neither of these ingredients will harm Fido, just leaving an unpleasant, bitter taste in their mouth; furthermore, teaching them this tastes bad, don’t nibble again.
