Crafts You Can Do with Your Dog

Going on outdoor adventures with your furry friend is always a blast. But, if you’re looking to spend a cozy day in, try doing some crafts with your pooch! Here’s a list of fun and adorable crafts to do with your canine companion by your side.

Doggie Drink Coaster

Create a custom coaster inspired by your pooch to use as a subtle decoration around the house!

Supplies:

  • Coaster making kit (optional), unfinished coaster, clay/concrete coaster shaped piece
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Paint finisher

To Do:

  1. Make coaster (optional).
  2. Paint background color on coaster.
  3. Paint dog on coaster.
  4. Spray paint finisher and let dry.

Watercolor Paw Print

If watercolor is your preferred medium of choice, try a paw print project!

Supplies:

  • Watercolor palette
  • Watercolor brushes
  • Watercolor paper
  • A small bowl filled with water
  • Paper towel for dabbing brushes

To Do:

  1. Wet your brush and dip in color, paint on your dog’s paw, and press gently on the paper.
  2. Clean their paw off completely when finished. If you don’t want to use their actual paw or have difficulty, try taking a picture and paint from the reference!

Dog Locket and/or Keychain

Have your dog with you everywhere you go by creating a piece to bring with you!

Supplies: 

  • Locket
  • Keychain (optional)
  • Printer with color
  • Scissors

To Do: 

  1. Choose an adorable picture of your pooch to print.
  2. Print off picture according to locket/keychain dimensions.
  3. Cut out picture in shape according to locket/keychain and insert.

Paw Print Garden Stone

Make a garden stone with your pup’s paw print as a cute decoration for your landscape!

Supplies:

  • Stepping stone kit
  • Acrylic paint and brushes (optional)

To Do: 

  1. Complete the steps as stated in the kit.
  2. Wash off your dog’s paw immediately after completing print.
  3. Wait for the stone to set after finishing decorations.
  4. Place in dog-friendly garden.

Pooch Photoshoot

One of the easiest and long-lasting “crafts” is a photoshoot! Try creating a theme to follow, here’s an example of an old western photoshoot for Fido!

  1. Set up the background and props before getting your dog dressed.
  2. Dress your dog in their costume.
  3. Snap some adorable photos of your pooch in their Western getup!
  4. Frame or post your pictures for friends and family to see.
