Celebrating Pride with your Pup

Pride month is here! Every June, we have Pride month to recognize and celebrate the LGBTIQ+ community. During Pride, there are many events and activities to participate in, in order to get into the spirit of Pride, and fortunately, it’s super easy to get your furry friend in on the action!

Costumes

A super fun way to get your pup in on the fun is to get them some fun costumes to rock all month long.

Rainbow Lion Mane

This rainbow headpiece comes in multiple furry styles to fit the head of any pup. It is easily adjustable to give your pooch a comfortable fit and will give your furry friend a super festive and unique look!

Rainbow Dog Costume

This super cute costume comes in multiple sizes so every dog can get in on the fun! It has a hook and loop closure to keep it securely fastened around your pup’s belly and the best part? It also comes with an adjustable headband with rainbow heart antennas! This costume will make any dog look festive no matter where you’re going.

Rainbow Bandana

And, if your dog isn’t really into wearing clothes or costumes, this Pride bandana is super cute and fits the theme perfectly. It is made of super soft materials and if you’re feeling like matching with your dog, you can get some matching underwear, socks, or pajamas for yourself.

Treats

Love is Love Soft Baked Treats

These special edition Pride month treats are a delicious addition to your pet’s diet. Not only are they delicious, but they also support a worthy cause. 5% of all Pride treat sales will be donated to the Youth Empowerment Performance Project, YEPP, which works to support LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness.

Crafts

Dog Lick Painting

This craft is perfect for Pride month and is super easy to recreate with your pup. Just get some paper or canvases, cover it in the paint color of your choice (we recommend rainbow!), and then tape a plastic bag over the top of it so it doesn’t move and smear some peanut butter on the bag. Your pup will go to town licking the peanut butter off of the bag and will push the paint around under it. Then, when you remove the bag, you will see a beautiful piece of art made by your furry friend!

PawPrint Art

This craft is super easy to do with your pup and turns out amazing every time. For this one, lay out a big piece of paper or canvas (you probably want to do with outside), and then lay out a few plates of non-toxic, washable paint. Have your dog press their paws into some different colored paints and then walk around on the paper. The result? A super cute abstract art piece made 100% by your pup!

Events

Pride Parade

If you are heading out to a Pride Parade in your town, bring your four-legged friend with you! If your dog is social and loves other people, they will thrive at a parade getting pets from everybody and walking around seeing the hustle and bustle. They can wear a themed outfit and spread love to the community.

Dog Party

A super fun way to include your pooch in the festivities is to plan a doggy Pride parade. Have a get-together of your pup and some of their besties for a Pride-themed party. They can wear pride costumes, eat Pride treats, make rainbow art, and have fun with their friends playing all day.
