Alex was a phenomenal trainer for my chocolate lab Moose, who was essentially knew no boundaries. He’s able to walk properly on a leash now, follow commands, and the most amazing is rife in the backseat of a car without endangering our safety. We continue to reinforce his learning every day. He loved his trainer and the facility. Highly recommend.

We did the Puppy Kindergarten class with our golden retriever and we loved it so much we then did a few one on one training sessions too! Training with SMS helped us be able to train our hyper dog! After training, his recall and jumping significantly improved. You can tell they really care about the dogs and they also provide great customer service. Highly recommend

I recently got a puppy boxer that was very hyper and stubborn. I hesitated at first and was wondering if going to a dog trainer was worth it, and this is one of the best decision I ever took. My puppy now listens to me and is very obedient after only 3 weeks. My trainer was Becca and it was always a pleasure to go to her class. She was always enthusiastic, kind and you can actually see that she loves dogs and her job. Her positive attitude is awesome and very contagious. The people at sit means sit also take great care of the dogs that they train or keep in boarding. They are very humane, patient and kind toward the animals, I could not be happier with my experience. I highly recommend it, both you and your dog will come out with a lot of knowledge and a better bond.

I can not recommend Sit means Sit enough! Becca worked with our 10 month old Aussie for the 3 individual lessons and completely transformed his behavior! He’s now attentive and focused and a good boy all around.

I can’t praise Sit Means Sit enough for the information and guidance they have provided in training my doggo Divot. I did the individual lessons and three months of group classes. Before training my dog could not tolerate the sight of another unknown dog, was a really hard leash puller, and had no recall. In fact, lesson 3 with Alex (who is super awesome by the way) was the first time I ever saw my dog not react to bypassing an unknown dog. We recently just moved up to intermediate group classes, and now Divot can focus and handle being in a room with over 20 dogs! My quality of life has improved and I’m able to take him hiking, camping, for a stroll, loose leash walks, meet new dogs, and more. I get compliments all the time about how calm and well behaved he is… little did they know how rough it was outside before training! Dog training is not easy. You get what you put into it. I would highly recommend SMS to anyone with a stubborn dog with reactivity issues.

Extremely professional and kind group of trainers who really know what they’re doing and are great about adapting to the needs and challenges of individual dogs. Training here is also a ton of fun for both me and my dog!

I couldn’t be happier with SMS Raleigh! I have a 5 year old lab/hound rescue who is reactive, didn’t like other dogs, has a bite history, and was controlling my life to be honest. He was the sweetest dog to me but scared everyone else away. I never wanted to have anyone over or take him on a walk. My dog Gunner went to their Masters board and train program for 2 weeks and it was a life saver. Now, he is part hound so the stubborn side of him still tries to test my limits with boundaries but SMS has help me tremendously with my dogs confidence along with my own!! We still have a long way to go but I have seen such a change in attitude and demeanor after his stay at SMS. The group classes after the boarding seals the deal and is helping so much! You can tell the trainers really get to know your pup. Shout out to Nick for loving my puppy more than I could imagine and showing Gunner that men are not scary and give out the best belly rubs too! You all are life savers!!!

Sit means sit was great with our rescue dog. We did the 2 week board and train and he came back a new dog. Alyssa was great with him and with us as we learned the techniques. Highly recommended them.

I am so happy to be a part of the sit means sit family:) My 1.5 year old 140lb English Mastiff, Kingston, started to get issues with leash aggression and fear aggression when meeting new pupps or people. He did the 15 day boarding camp with Olivia and has been active in the group classes and I have seen such a huge improvement. He is walking by my side without pulling and no longer jumps/lunges/barks at people walking by. Olivia is amazing and is so patient and loving with Kingy. When he goes to group classes the trainers come up to him and pet him and he wiggles his tail which is new to me – he is usually cautious/anxious. Kingy is a work in progress but it is so comforting being part of a program and team that passionate about they do 🙂

Sit means Sit did wonders with our dog Oakley. We took Oakley in with anxiety and aggressive behavior issues and as soon as our trainer Nadia walked in he immediately was comfortable with her and listened to her the entire time. Colby took time out of his schedule to check in with us on Oakley’s behavior and progress. Sit means Sit is a professional business with considerate trainers who really care about the animals they work with. Nadia explained everything before hand and while the sessions were going on so that we felt comfortable and relaxed while learning ourselves. I believe without Sit means Sit and Nadia, Oakley would’ve kept that anxiety and aggressive behavior no matter how hard my husband and I worked with him. We loved them so much that we are boarding Oakley while we go out of town. The trust we have built with the team ensures that we are 100% sure Oakley will be in the best care. Before the private classes I couldn’t even take Oakley for a walk without being dragged and terrified. Now we happily go on successful walks utilizing the tools we were taught by Nadia. Thank you Sit means Sit for believing in Oakley and the wonderful experience we had while there. We appreciate it so much.

We took our dog Stella to the 10 day board and train program and have seen wonderful results. She listens attentively now and can handle distractions when it was previously very hard to maintain her focus. We are so impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff as well as the group classes! We would definitely recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone.

We can’t say enough good things about Sit Means Sit! We have seen amazing progress with our dog in a short amount of time. Before Sit Means Sit, he was very anxious around strangers. He is now more comfortable in new environments. Our trainer, Alyssa, is incredibly patient with our dog (and us!). We have also found that the group classes are an excellent opportunity to fine tune training in a fun group atmosphere.

Awesome program, we did 15 day board and train and has made a difference with our dog. We completed the training a month ago and our trainer has come out to our home weekly for follow up visits and those are super helpful! Amazing to have the confidence to be able to properly train our dog and have him gain more confidence! Would highly recommend, our only complaint is that we did not do it sooner!!

I took my 2.5 year old catahoula, Copper, to Sit Means Sit to work on his anxiety-based aggression. It has been about a month since he finished the 15 day program and Copper has continuously been improving since I picked him up. As long as you are willing to be diligent and reinforce your dog’s training at home the results will be well worth the money.

Our girl Birdie just finished her last in home training with Josh, following a 10 day train and board. We’re very impressed with the progress she has made. Birdie has tackled issues with anxiety, jumping, leash walking and whining to name a few. We’ve seen an exponential difference in her and are confident she will contribute to progress as we stick with our program. Thank you Josh with SMS Raleigh! Birdie was a tough case and we appreciate your dedication!

Sit Means Sit has done an amazing job with my two dogs, Ghost and Pippin! We did private lessons which were great and have been following up with group classes. Pippin used to be highly dog aggressive and has made SO much progress. I never thought I would be able to have him be in a room full of other dogs and be calm.

I can’t say enough good things about Sit Means Sit and especially my trainer, Alyssa. My dog Ollie improves daily. We are going for longer and longer walks without him stopping at every tree, bush, rock, stick, etc. Alyssa has showed me many things to help Ollie along.

We have been so impressed with our in-home appointments with Alyssa. Libby is 2 years old and just has some bad habits (jumping on guests, playing with stuffed animals and barking at the wind…) We feel like we have the tools to teach her how we want her to behave. A great program and incredibly quick results.

Having my dog trained at Sit Means Sit has been one of the best decisions I have made for myself and for my dog. Sit Means Sit gave her the obedience training that she really needed. She was a stubborn little thing, and the trainer, Alyssa, did a great job with her. I feel more confident knowing that my dog will listen to me and won’t chew everything in sight. Also, all of the employees there treat your dog like their own, which is a huge reason why I went with them. My dog was training with them for 15 days and I wasn’t worried at all, because I knew she was in good hands. Thanks Sit Means Sit and Alyssa!

I honestly cannot write enough good things about the team at SMS. My goldendoodle puppy, Winnie, started training there at 15 weeks and I’m not sure I would have survived puppy parenthood without it! Our trainer, Hannah, immediately got to know both mine and Winnie’s personalities and gave me the tools to be the most effective with her. My biggest concerns when looking for a training program were finding a place that was not too “militant” but also would really put in the time and effort with training to make sure it stuck. SMS Raleigh was the perfect fit! Every single dog is given the individual attention and personalized instruction that they need for their age and temperament. We love being part of the Sit Means Sit family!

They are the real deal. I have had problems with my 4 yr old German Shepherd Dog for a while. Layna was rescued from a foster home at age 2.5 and had severe anxiety issues. It had become a struggle to do basic things like letting her out to pee/poo, going for walks, and even just having people over. I sent her off to do the boarding for 15 days while I was out of the country. She’s come back so much more confident and I can control her now…

The best part of them is the follow-ups. I purposely chose to hold off on writing a review until I experienced their customer-service after the initial training. I worked with Olivia, and she was great. They give you “”homework”” between the 3 followup meetings, and for the last one, I was having a hard time with Layna dealing with strangers. Colby, the owner of the Raleigh Sit Means Sit, came out with Olivia to help be the “”stranger”” since Layna fell in love with Olivia, and helped give some pointers on how to deal with guests and neighbors.

They’re great and would recommend them to anyone.

Sit Means Sit Raleigh has done an amazing job helping Rufus with his anxiety towards all things with wheels. They also taught him the basics to get him on the road to being a happy go lucky dog. I adopted Rufus 3 yrs ago from the Wake County Animal Shelter and when they got him he was not in good shape, he was found tied to a tree, emaciated and very scared of everything and everyone. He was an abused dog who was never shown any kind of love or affection. The minute I saw his picture and read his story I knew that he was meant to be my dog and I adopted him after he recovered from major surgery to remove the rope that was embedded in his neck.

Before Rufus went to Sit Means Sit Raleigh it was a daily struggle to take him for a walk and enjoy being outdoors with him. He has very bad anxiety when it comes to things with wheels such as bikes, skateboards, scooters, cars and even golf carts. These types of objects with wheels are very present where I currently live. His reaction to these objects was not only scaring the people where I lived but when I couldn’t control him, that scared me too. I was to the point that it was either take Rufus out very early in the morning, mid day or wait until it was late enough that these types of things weren’t out and about. I was getting to the point that I didn’t like walking Rufus. I knew then I had to do something, I tried 4 other trainers who basically took my money and ran, then I went to a event at Bass Pro Shop in Cary and had the opportunity to listen to Colby explain the type of training they provide. I was beyond impressed and watching the way his dog Ranger behaved I requested a appointment.

Rufus certainly has come a long way and with continued training with Colby and his Excellent team of trainers I have no doubt that Rufus will overcome his issue with all things with wheels. I now enjoy taking Rufus for walks and even to the lake to have fun in the water. He’s a completely different dog and more importantly is that he’s happy. We couldn’t have gotten to this point without Sit Means Sit Raleigh.

Thank you all so much for everything you have done for Rufus and myself. I look forward to our continued Journey to help Rufus to become the happy and playful dog he deserves to be.
