Enjoying Dog Friendly Fiesta Island in San Diego

Want to enjoy one of San Diego’s best hidden gems for dog owners just north of the city? Plan a day trip with your dog to Fiesta Island for the amazing trails and Dog park!

Visiting Fiesta Island

A large portion of this sandy island in Mission Bay is designated as an off-leash zone for dogs to play on the sandy dunes, and in the calm bay waters! One thing to be aware of is that the road is near the shoreline, while the low-speed limit should limit potential danger it is important that your dog follows voice commands before they are allowed off-leash. There are walking trails and a fenced in dog park to help your dog burn off some energy!

Fiesta Island Packing Tips

Before you head out make sure to pack a bag so that you are prepared for a day full of running and playing. Here are some things we recommend you include:

• Plenty of drinking water for you and your dog
• A leash & your dog’s collar with identification tags
• Treats
• Doggy bags
• Toys/Balls to play fetch
• Towels to dry off your dog after playing in the bay

You may also want to include a seat cover or towels to protect your car seats if your dog gets dirty during the day.
