Where do I begin…excellent trainer with an experienced team of trainers. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My boxer, not only does he Love Tim, he is well trained with good commands and still has his goofy personality. My daughter even goes to Tim for her Dobernan, and he’s also well trained, we both rate Sit means Sit with a “5” star. Thank you Tim for always being there for us!!!!!

I have nothing but praise for Tim’s Sit Means Sit program. He and his staff are great to work with, and I appreciate that all their processes are easy and well-organized. More importantly, their training is top-notch with ongoing support and benefits to the dogs. My spouse and I have been blown away by the results. Not only are our dogs now obedient and manageable, but they’re calm, happy, and we have a much closer relationship. What impressed us most is how the basics (sit, stay, come, loose leash walking) seemed to magically address all kinds of pesky habits (barking, begging, jumping, etc.). Before we wouldn’t dare let them off leash without a full fence. We thought we were going to have to add yard walls and gates to allow the dogs to run loose. But now they stay in our yard, come and go when asked, and get to zoomie and play freely without leashes and lines. They no longer bark at neighbors or chase birds and rabbits to off-limits places. I don’t think we specifically trained to leave our neighbors and wildlife alone, but now everyone enjoys our time outdoors a lot more!

We haven’t fully taken advantage of the Saturday group training classes yet, but that’s our next step (and is included in the package). We know the socialization around strangers and other dogs will enable our dogs to be well-mannered in social and public settings, and we’re looking forward integrating our furry family members in even more aspects of our lives.

So yes, I highly recommend Tim’s program and can sum it up by saying it’s truly changed our lives for the better. Game-changing!!

If you’re looking for an obedience training program that will teach you and your pup to be successful, I highly recommend Sit Means Sit and Tim’s team! As soon as I picked up my 8 week old Belgian Malinois, I began searching for the right training program. I met with Tim weeks before we could start training, and from the start he was professional and very insightful to prepare me for obedience training. Tim and his team are honest and provide an immense amount of support to ensure you and your pup are supported and successful. One of my favorite things about working with Sit Means Sit is the ongoing Saturday morning obedience sessions. If you are committed to the ongoing practice of teaching your pup, the obedience training and tools you learn from Tim and his team work! I’m very grateful for the encouragement and enthusiasm from Tim!

I’m so thankful for Tim and the team at Sit Means Sit San Diego. I brought my mini goldendoodle, Oliver, to Tim when he was a little over 5 months old. I signed up for the once a week for four week package which included a full day of training one day a week for four weeks and a year of group training. At the conclusion of each training day, Tim shows you what your dog has learned and covers what they went over throughout the day so you can go home and practice for the following week. When the weekly trainings are over, you start attending group classes on Saturday. The group classes are SO beneficial and help you continue to sharpen your training and overall relationship with your dog. Over a year later and I still try to do them any weekend I have a free Saturday morning.

Tim’s guidance and tools set you up for success. He truly loves dogs and is always available for questions and concerns. He takes the time to understand you and your dog and what your goals for training are. He makes training feel manageable and not overwhelming and gave me the confidence to know that Oliver and I could have success.

I can’t stress enough how much I recommend this training program. I plan to do it for every future dog I own. If you’re on the fence, look no further. It is worth the investment. With Tim and SMS and a little hard work and commitment, you will be so pleased with the outcome and your dog will thank you too.

We took our mini dachshund Maverick to be trained by Tim and Ashley back in spring of 2021, and it was the best decision we’ve ever made! Maverick completed the 4 week package of training at Sit Means Sit for the day and then moved on to weekly group classes every Saturday after that. The value and quality of training that the dogs get with this program is unmatched. Maverick is social with other dogs and still practices all of the commands he learned during the year we went to group classes. Can’t thank Tim, Ashley, and Kate enough for being there every Saturday willing to help the dogs live better lives. Our only regret is that our year ran out and Maverick “graduated”. If you’re considering this program and community for your dog, sign up ASAP! You won’t regret it

We started the program couple of months ago. Although I had my doubts the first day but Tim and his amazing team proved me wrong. They helped us and Barkley every step of the way. We already saw improvements in Barkley’s behavior after the first day. After the full day trainings we continued with group sessions and we couldn’t be happier. Tim, Ash and Kate have been great.

I highly recommend Tim and his team at Sit Means Sit. Our 11 month old mini golden doodle puppy Taimi was a terror and completely unable to be trained at home like our previous dogs. Taimi did a 2 week immersion and his behavior was completely changed. We were so impressed we brought in our 7 year old Cavapoo Zojja for training so he could understand the same commands we give Taimi.

The staff at Sit Means Sit are incredible! Our pup is the most behaved dog we have ever had. We can jog with him off leash through the foothills, at the beach and everywhere we go. We have made great friends and can’t wait to see what the future holds

My thoughts on this training are nothing short of amazing! Not only do I now have the means to keep my dogs attention at all times but now I can get her to be more well mannered around people and other dogs. I will be referring any one and every one I know who needs help with their dogs to this company. Hopefully, in time I will be able to become a certified trainer with Sit Means Sit and be able to help other people with their dogs or even law enforcement/search and rescue dogs.

I like to take my 4 year old German Shorthaired Pointer to a somewhat enclosed park by my house so she can run free, chase birds, and burn off some of the abundance of energy that she has. The problem was that I was having difficulty getting her to come back to me when I called her, and when she found a way to get through the fence and wandered onto private property, putting herself at risk with an overprotective homeowner, I was faced with either giving up the park or getting some help. That’s when I called Sit Means Sit. After going through the program with Tim, I’m happy to say that my Bella is once again enjoying the freedom of the park, and I am enjoying the security of knowing she will come back to me when called. In addition, her overall obedience has significantly improved, and so has our quality of life. I can’t thank Tim enough!

The difference between this training method vs. yanking back on a leash is truly amazing! With this training technique I get almost immediate results with anything I try to do without all of the “testing” that our dogs like to put us through. Tanner’s personality is just as sweet as it ever was, but he simply listens better than any puppy I’ve attempted to train with just a leash and verbal commands alone. This after just three short training sessions. I’m sold!

I looked at a few different dog trainers, but Tim took the time to come to my house, explain his training methods, show me his dog, and worked with my dog, which made my decision pretty easy. I’m moving from a house to a retirement community, and needed my dog to improve his obedience. I’m very impressed with the results and now have no concerns about my dog in our new home.

We would like to thank you for your help with Holly. You were the fourth trainer that we retained to help us. Our goal with Holly has always been simple, we want her to come when called. Your three predecessors told us the problem was not with Holly, but with us, so I assumed they were correct and had pretty much given up hope. After three weeks of training with Tim, we had the basics and Holly, to our amazement, started to come when called. Holly is much safer today and we have Sit Means Sit to thank, your system worked and given our poor track record that is saying a lot.

I would like to share our experience with Sit Means Sit. We adopted a Pit Bull mix from a shelter, we wanted to take him to run and play at an off leash dog park. That was disaster. He wouldn’t come when called and would playfully nip at all other dogs, people were afraid for their dogs, and so was I! We had some camping friends who had a dog that was completely out of control year after year, but this summer the dog was sweet, obedient, and happy. I called them and they recommended Sit Means Sit. Now our dog is running free at dog parks and doesn’t bother other dogs, plays and wrestles with dogs his size. He always comes when called wagging his tail, and always obeys. The difference I see is that Sit Means Sit trains them to obey 100% of the time, and the commands are simple so the dog knows exactly what you want from them, unlike other methods which wore me out more than the dog LOL! Thanks to Sit Means Sit and trainer Tim McMillan, our dog is happy, confident, and free to enjoy life! Tim loves dogs, loved our Diesel, and enjoyed training both Diesel and us as well. Thanks Tim!!

We have 14 grand-children that visit or stay with us regularly. When we got our 8-week-old Boxer puppy, Abbey, it soon became obvious that training her was a must. When we met Tim McMillan, from Sit Means Sit, at a Del Mar Home/Garden Show my wife and I were immediately impressed with his knowledge and experience. After checking out the website we signed up for training with Tim.

We started our training when Abbey, or our ‘Wild Child’ as we affectionately called her, was 4 months old. Tim came to our home and within 30 minutes Abbey was obeying commands to sit and come. We learned how to re-enforce those commands during the week. By the 3rd lesson Abbey was not jumping on us or our youngest grand kids which is a playful habit puppies have.

Our ‘Wild Child’ has turned into a gentle, loving, and obedient member of the family thanks to the training and guidance of Tim and the Sit Means Sit methods of training. I highly recommend Tim for obedience training. He is firm but loving in his tone of voice and mannerisms. Our Abbey immediately became friends with Tim and wanted to learn from him and us. Abbey, now 8 months old, can now be left alone with all our grand kids and not be aggressively playful. Our weekly outdoor meetings to interact with other dogs involved with Tim and Sit Means Sit is a highlight of the week for Abbey.

We are very thankful to have found Tim and training our Abbey with the Sit Means Sit method.

At first I wasn’t sure if the “Sit Means Sit” method was going to work for us considering we have what I believe to be a stubborn but sensitive dog. However, after working with Tim and learning how to employ the system effectively, I’m quite pleased with the results. When we started the training with Humphrey he was a four month old rambunctious Labradoodle pup who was seemingly impossible to control. Now he is still a rambunctious playful fellow but now he is well on his way to becoming the well mannered pet that I had always envisioned but didn’t think would be achievable. I’d also like to add that Tim is a fantastic trainer to work with. He’s fair, open minded, and willing to work with his clients and their dogs in a manner that works for all.

We are so happy with the results of your training! We NEVER imagined we would be able to walk even 2 ft without him darting off. He is such a joy to take on walks now & SO MUCH MORE FUN IN GENERAL! Our house is more peaceful & we aren’t frustrated with trying to make him do or not do certain things. Thanks again!!!

Sit Means Sit Dog Training was one of the best things we could have ever done for ourselves and our 1 year old French Bulldog named Hardy. After months of going through training elsewhere, spending hundreds of dollars with no success, we started to accept the fact that we may never have a well-mannered, and well-trained dog. Walking Hardy off leash was something we couldn’t have imagined in our wildest dreams. It wasn’t until my fiancé discovered Sit Means Sit Dog Training that we developed hope. After our first visit with Tim we were hooked, Hardy responded so fast with their unique style of training. One command that would have taken Hardy weeks of endless repetition elsewhere to master only took minutes, yes minutes to quickly pick up. Hardy at only 1 year old walks OFF leash and we have so much confidence in our little guy, which makes us so proud and happy to call him ours. Thank you again Tim and Sit Means Sit!

Ashley

We are really astounded with Huey’s progress in the Sit Means Sit system. He started out as a very LARGE ball of energy, turns out he just needed something to channel that energy into. With daily structure and training, he has become incredibly obedient and attentive, he also really ENJOYS the training exercises, it’s fun for him. Huey is a smart shepherd with lots of potential, he just needed someone to guide him towards that potential, and for that we THANK YOU! Keep in touch!

Tim worked with our Pit Bull Rocky, who is very territorial and protective. Rocky would constantly bark aggressively at anyone who tried to enter the house, even certain family members and close friends, when we tried to call him or get him to stop, he would never listen. He had been through several homes, and this was pretty much his last hope. Sit Means Sit’s training exercises and techniques allowed Rocky to become more attentive and obedient, so that he would listen to our commands. Sit Means Sit & Tim are responsible for helping Rocky to become a better dog, to get used to strangers, and listen to all of us. Our whole family is still amazed at how far Rocky has come. I recommend anyone who has any difficulty with their dog, no matter what the issue-to invest in Tim’s program. It will change your dogs life!

Sasha Rose…aka Rosie, recently spent a week with Tim from Sit Means Sit and the results have been absolutely amazing! Prior to her week with Tim at “Doggy Boot Camp” as we called it, she had aggression issues from a lack of socialization. Tim worked with her on this as well as other issues and the results have exceeded our expectations and in the long run will make our Rosie a much happier dog. We are thrilled with the results, she will be going to group in the future and THANK YOU just doesn’t say enough!

Although it has been less than a year, Piper is doing fantastic and the training collar has been a true gift, she loves wearing it and gets so excited when we put it on. She has been great around the horses and so much more respectful of their space. Thank you so much for training her and helping turn our puppy into a beautiful young lady.

Sit Means Sit has changed my out of control lab, Zoey, into a well-behaved dog. She pulled on a leash so badly that I couldn’t even take her for walks. After only one week, she was heeling off leash and right by my side. It was amazing! Now I enjoy hikes, walks, and other outings with her. I truly believe that Sit Means Sit can train any dog.
