Denver Pet Loss Support Group

Denver Pet Loss Support Group

Pets provide unconditional love, support, and companionship. They truly become part of our families as they grow and develop through the years. Each of us has a unique relationship with our pets that is irreplaceable. As such, losing a pet can result in the same sense of grief and sadness that we feel at losing a human relative or friend.

The Grieving Process

Feeling sorrow and loneliness at the loss of a pet is perfectly normal, whether that be through death, relocation, or if they are missing. However, our culture often does not provide us with sufficient resources to mourn our pets. Even close friends and family members may not understand the sense of loss that you feel, but it’s important to remember that you’re not alone. Gaining support and validation from others going through a similar experience can help you begin the healing process.
