Fun Ways to Celebrate Your Dog's Birthday

Fun Ways to Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday

Pet lovers treat their dogs just like any other member of the family. So when their birthday hits on the calendar we want to make sure that they feel just as special. The only problem is their interests are a little more unique than ours. It can be hard to plan a birthday celebration for a dog especially when we can’t communicate with them. But not to worry! We came up with a list of fun ways you can celebrate your dog’s birthday this year.

Plan a party!

  • The first thing you need to ask yourself is where you want to have it. Should you have it at home, in the back yard, at a dog park?
  • Dog Parks are a great way to keep your dog happy on their special day. You can invite all of his four-legged friends and they will have a blast running around together. Bring along extra toys for them to share and snacks to chow down on.
  • Throw a dog party in your back yard! Invite your fellow pet lovers and their tail-wagging companions. Set up photo booths with fun props for them try on and take as many pictures as you can!
  • Set up an agility course outside and watch them all run around each other.
  • Get all the dogs practicing their sniffing skills and play “Find It” games. Hide prizes and treats around the yard for them to seek out.
  • Host a doggie talent show! Put flyers up around your neighborhood and let everyone join in on the fun.
  • Make it a pool party! Most dogs love to swim and you can make it even better by playing fetch with them inside the pool.

Take a trip!

  • Visit your local pet store and let them pick out whatever they want!
  • Find a nearby restaurant that allows dogs to join in on the fun
  • Order doggie treats from a specialty bakery
  • Adopt a new friend at your local humane society
  • Sign them up for doggie day care for the day! They will have so much fun socializing with new friends.

If you don’t have time to plan something too extravagant here are a few things you can do from home!

  • Bake a cake together with pet friendly ingredients
  • Watch dog movies like Beethoven and Scooby Doo
  • Clear out the room and make a scavenger hunt or agility course
  • Give them extra time to play outside
  • Teach them a new trick
  • Make them a delicious pet friendly meal

We hope this helps you plan for your next pooch party! Make sure that you are always watching out for your dog when others are around. It’s important to be cautious when there’s a big group of dogs together.
