Visiting the Atlanta BeltLine with Your Dog

If you’re in the Southeast or you’re visiting Atlanta, the Atlanta Beltline needs to be on your to-do list of places to see. This urban development has received a lot of hype and press and has been compared to the High Line in NYC. The strip of walking trails is lined with plenty to do and see, including restaurants, art, and parks. The BeltLine is an urban revitalization project that was created to unite unique neighborhoods around in-town Atlanta. The trail, which is still under construction and being developed is divided into 5 parts: the Northside, Eastside, Southeast, Southwest, and Westside Trails. This is great spot to visit with your dog for a day or exploring. There’s plenty to do and see that is dog friendly so check out what spots to do we think are great!

Ponce City Market

The Ponce City Market is a great place to stop on your exploration of the Beltline. There are shops, restaurants, concerts, and other events to enjoy. While dogs aren’t allowed inside the market, they can hang out on the rooftop. They’re also welcome around the entrances to the market.

Paris on Ponce

Paris on Ponce is another great stop that has a couple of different genres to please everyone in your group. This spot has an antique store, a coffee shop, a burlesque event venue, and a restaurant that is in the making. This 45,000 square foot area has goods and items to buy at the shop from over 30 different artists, craftsmen, and more. They have live music and are dog friendly, including a water station for your pup!

Old Fourth Ward Skatepark

The Old Fourth Ward Skatepark is a must-see, and you’ve probably already seen it all over Instagram. It is most known for hosting a weekly free yoga class (on Tuesdays!) that draws many to the park. Obviously you and your dog can come on a non-yoga day to just explore the park!

Krog Street Market

Another great spot to check out is the Krog Street Market. It is smaller than the Ponce City Market, so feels a little more laid-back and casual. There are so many restaurants to try and there’s something for everyone’s cravings. The interior of the market is not dog friendly, but the picnic tables outside are perfect to eat at with your pup. Just have another friend get the food inside.

Krog Bar and Kevin Rathbun Steak

Right near the Krog Street Market are Krog Bar and Kevin Rathbun Steak. With a ton of different options for food and drink, this is another place to grab food with your dog if you don’t want to wait outside the market with them. The patios are great and dog-friendly, making it a wonderful stop on the trail.

If you’re an Atlanta resident, keep on the lookout for more developments of the Atlanta Beltline. There will be more and more to come that you and your furry friend can keep exploring! Have fun!
