Palmer, Buckskin-Charley, Niobrara, and Bretag Trail Loop

  • Length: 4.0 Miles
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Elevation Gain: 449 ft

Located in Garden of the Gods National Park, this four-mile takes you from the south to the north part of the park, then loops back. This is a popular trail, so you will encounter others on the trail, to which we recommend keeping Fido on a leash. The best times to visit are between March to October!

Mount Muscoco Trail

  • Length: 4.0 Miles
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Elevation Gain: 1,292 ft

Mount Muscoco, located in North Cheyenne Cañon Park, is another popular trail for pet owners because of its fantastic outlook! This trail is out-and-back and classified as a little more complex; locals recommend hiking boots over tennis shoes because of the loose gravel.

Mount Cutler Trail

  • Length: 1.7 Miles
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Elevation Gain: 472 ft

Also located in North Cayenne Cañon Park, Mount Cutler is another gorgeous trail but much more accessible in difficulty! This one is also out-and-back, but it’s much shorter! Mount Cutler is another popular spot for pet parents because of the well-marked trails.

Mesa, Greenlee, and Red Rock Canyon Path Loop

  • Length: 1.8 Miles
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Elevation Gain: 262 ft

Within the Red Rock Canyon Open Space is a hidden gem of a trail! This combination of smaller trails gives you an exquisite loop around the park, on average taking less than an hour. This trail is known for lots of walking, running, and mountain biking, so we warn visitors to keep Fido on their leash.

Pulpit Rock Park Loop

  • Length: 4.2 Miles
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Elevation Gain: 557 ft

Positioned close to downtown Colorado Springs, the Austin Bluffs Open Space is a network of connecting trails leading you to the breathtaking Pulpit Rock ridge line! The loop takes you around the park, with lots of spots for great pictures!
