Sit Means Sit Denver Client Testimonial

Below is a terrific testimonial on behalf of Joson, a rescue dog. Owners, Troy and Shelly, have done a great job of following through and taking advantage of our lifetime group classes. They’ve really achieved the relationship we all hope for when we add an animal to our family! Congratulations you guys, we’re glad we could help.

“We got our new dog, Joson, from the Boulder Humane Society. He was a 7 month old Shepperd mix. His behavior was not bad, but he was not trained and he would not listen to us. We would take him to the dog park and it would be very difficult to catch him to go home. I also run for exercise and wanted to be able to take Joson running with me. However, he didn’t run very well with me because his leash would always get tangled up in my legs and his. We tried training him ourselves but that wasn’t working. Finally, we decided we needed help to get a well trained dog. We have had other dogs and have tried traditional training courses. After a time, these training courses work but only when our dogs knew they were confined by a leash, walls or a fence.

We heard about Sit Means Sit from two different pet owner at the dog park. We met Anthony at Sit Means Sit Denver Dog Training. We were leery about using the Sit Means Sit system. They spent our introduction visit explaining the system to us and getting us comfortable with it. At first Joson played the big baby and would pout during training, but after two weeks he seemed to understand the freedom the training provided. Also, after just 2 sessions we could walk him off leash and he would listen to us. After 3 private lessons and several group lessons with Jon (another great trainer at Sit Means Sit), we can now keep him in our front yard while we sit outside, take him for runs, even have him sit outside Starbucks off leash. He does not run up to people, chase rabits, play with kids, etc, (unless of course we tell him he can). It is great! He is happy, we are happy, and we are very proud of him! He would not have been able to be this well behaved and spend so much time with us without Sit Means Sit. People are constantly amazed about how well behaved he is.

We also love that the program is lifetime training and we take advantage of the group classes to keep his and our skills honed whenever we can. We HIGHLY recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone from passive “well behaved” dogs to aggressive difficult dogs. It is well worth the money spent.”
