They are very eager to please, however, so if you give them a job you can be sure that they will try their absolute best to deliver.

Another great herding dog, the Border Collie breed is used all over the world for their natural desire to get to work. This is an extremely intelligent breed of dog that is also known to be obedient, loyal, and have a strong desire to please its owners. You can be sure that your Border Collie will not rest until they have done the job you gave them!
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Corgis may not be the first dog that comes to mind when you think of a farm dog, but Corgis were originally bred in Wales to herd cattle and be farm guards. They are smart, affectionate, and loyal. Corgis make better family dogs than some of the other breeds on this list due to the fact that they naturally have less energy and aren’t quite as intense in their herding desires as the other dog breeds. They need plenty of exercises but they fit right into family life and farm work with ease.
