Summertime means spending as much time as you possibly can outside exploring with your pup! We love to get out and enjoy the warm weather with our furry friends in tow. While walks around the neighborhood are fun, it is always more interesting to try something new! Sometimes it can be hard to find new and dog-friendly things to do with your pup. Luckily, Knoxville has plenty to offer for you and your furry friend. Here are a few of the outdoor outings you have to try this summer.

Fork of the River

If you’re looking for a new place to get some exercise with your pup, Fork of the River is the perfect spot for you. The trails at this destination are great if you’re wanting to take your dog for a long walk where they’ll get to see new sights and have a good time. Whether you walk or run, these trails have lots of beautiful things to see. You can look into specifically which trail or route you think is best for you and your dog!

Downtown Knoxville

Another great destination for you and your pup to try out is Downtown Knoxville. This popular area has so much to offer for you and your furry friend. Knoxville is very dog friendly and is sure to give you a great experience. No matter what you’re looking to do there is plenty. Try out one of the many restaurants that are dog friendly if you’re looking for a bite to eat. If you’re wanting to shop, head over to the Mast General Store which happily welcomes dogs. If your pup wants to play, head to the PetSafe Downtown Dog park to burn off your meal. The Gay Street Bridge and Krutch Park are also some items to check of your list. We know your dog will have fun at all of these great spots.

Tommy Schumpert Park

If you want a place to cool off and play with your dog, Tommy Schumpert Park is the place to go. This dog park is a step above the rest. It has multiple sections for your dog to explore and play. If your dog gets a little hot, they can take a dip in the large swimming pond with a jumping dock where they can try new tricks! It has a smaller dog section, as well as open fields for Frisbee and fetch! There are also trails if you feel like just taking a more casual walk with your furry friend. We promise you and your dog will love exploring this spot!

Cool Beans Bar and Grill

Located near the University of Tennessee campus, Cool Beans Bar and Grill has lots to over its four-legged guests. This bar and grill not only has amazing food and drinks, but is also very dog friendly. It is a great spot to watch any sporting events you’re looking for or to just hang out with friends. Enjoy the dog-friendly patio and play some cornhole with friends! We’re sure you and your dog will love it.

Balter Beerworks

If you love beer and want your dog to be able to join in on the fun, head to Balter Beerworks! This unique and rustic brewery has so much to offer. Enjoy food made with fresh and local ingredients, while also getting to try some craft beer.  This place has a very comfortable, urban environment where your dog is welcome to join at their outdoor beer garden!
