Boxer Learns Self Control

Your Name: Kristi

Dog’s Name: Bubba

City: Pardeeville

Breed: Boxer

Likes: Bubba loves to chase a large ball around the backyard and go for rides in any vehicle.

Pet Peeves: He hates getting out of bed in the morning.

Favorite Toy: ANY squeaky toy and the outside watering hose or sprinkler

Favorite Treat: He likes it all – if it’s food, to him it’s a treat.

Best Trick: He gives me 5 before he is “released” to eat from his bowl.

Arrival Story: We became aware of Bubba needing a home through a family member. Our 13-year-old American Bulldog was very sick and we knew he wouldn’t be with us much longer. Our family member kept Bubba at her home until our AB had to be put down – then we brought Bubba home. I had always wanted a boxer, and this was the perfect opportunity. He needed a new home and I couldn’t stand it without a dog in the house.

Motto: Boxers are “twisty”! He is the most “bouncy” dog we’ve ever had. He can twist like a pretzel and jump straight up in the air at the same time when he is excited to see someone.

Why Training/ Sit Means Sit: Bubba wanted to play when Bubba wanted to play. In fact, he demanded it! He would paw at people, bite their clothing, bark, and have a full-blown hissy-fit if he didn’t get his way. In addition, he was terrible to take for a walk. We tried every type of collar and several types of harnesses that were recommended by boxer owners. Sit Means Sit helped us take control back of our home AND our lives! We are very happy with the results in working with Mike.
