Boston Dog Bakeries

Best Dog Bakeries in Boston

Your dog is a special member of your family and finding their favorite snack is a great reward for them, whether you’re a pup parent that likes to treat your dog occasionally or can’t help but spoil them endlessly. It can be difficult to come across a snack or treat that your dog prefers, or that their stomach can handle. Which is why hometown bakeries are a perfect solution because they use fresh ingredients that are easier on your four-legged friend’s stomach.

Polkadog Bakery (5 locations)

Polkadog Bakery started in 2002 and has grown from one small bakery to 5 successful locations across the Boston area. They got their name from an adorable one-eyed dog named Pearl who would dance her head from side-to-side when stopping to say hello, in a sort of polka way – making her the polka dancing dog. In tribute to Pearl, Polkadog Bakery has made it their mission to recreate the delicious and healthy treats they once created for her! They produce all of their treats from scratch each morning from classic biscuits to dehydrated & jerky treats – all made from a network of neighborhood local ingredients.

2 Dog Treats

2 Dog Treats was on a mission to provide better dog treats for heir dogs when they discovered their pups favorite treats were recalled and couldn’t find any other like them. So instead of going on an endless search, they decided to create their very own locally sourced treats that they distribute locally. You can discover chicken, beef, fish, and turkey treats in various sizes as well as sweet potato crisps and their new summit dog chews.

Dog Eat Cake

Dog Eat Cake is an adorably colorful and inviting bakery located in the south end of Boston offering treats and birthday parties specifically for your furry friend. They cater to dogs of all breeds and sizes believing that dogs should also have their cake and eat it too! On that note, they offer custom made dog cakes, treats, doughnuts, cupcakes, pies, and pretzels! And to make sure their treats have the dog seal of approval their two adorable Boston Terriers are there to provide quality assurance.

Maggie’s Dog House

Maggie’s Dog House started small only selling handfuls of treats in malls during the holiday seasons. This eventually led to wholesaling out to local pet stores and eventually opening up their very own shop. Named after the families late half-golden retriever/half-yellow lab, Maggie, they offer a variety of treats in her memory.

Camberville Dog Treats

Camberville Dog Treats was named after their local neighborhood of Cambridge, MA & each flavor they offer is named after one of the neighborhood squares located in within it. They create all their treats from local organic and sustainable produce. To make sure their treats are safe and not too harsh on your pup’s stomach they ensure each treat is approved by their sweet rescue dog who was born with tummy complications and a sensitive stomach.

Dog bakeries are fun ways to spoil your pet with unique treats that are simultaneously better for their digestion than compared to a chain company creating treats that have been processed in a factory. We hope that our list of local bakeries will help you better find a bakery that fits your dog’s needs and preferences.
