The Rules for Attending Group Classes:

  • Be mindful of others entering, exiting and checking in for class.
  • Please bring no more than 2 people (that does include children) to class.
  • Dogs attending group classes are allowed to attend up to ONE class per week. The exception is people attending multiple classes in a week with different dogs.
  • A trainer will check in clients as they arrive.
  • Dogs with either people and/or dog reactivity issues will be asked to wear a yellow bandanna during class. This is to help everyone, but most especially those dogs with behavior issues and their owners. Our goal is maintain a safe environment for everyone who attends our classes.
  • If someone makes a habit of booking class and cancelling or not showing up, we do reserve the right to not allow them to register for future classes.

FAQs About TimeTap & Group Classes

Q: What will be covered in adult group classes?

A: To find out what the current week’s focus and activity will be, visit the Schedule for Group Class Focus page.

Q: Will group classes be held in the snow and rain?

A: Keeping all of our clients and their dogs safe is our top priority. This includes when we conduct group classes during inclement weather. In general, we will not hold group classes if the weather forecast calls for more than 3-4 inches of snow, or severe thunderstorms. If a class is slated to be held outdoors, and rain is in the forecast, we may opt to move the class indoors. If a group class is canceled it will be updated in TimeTap.

If you are registered for a canceled group class, you will receive an email advising that class has been canceled.

Q: How can I register for for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Test?

A: Visit our CGC Page for more information and to register for the test.

Q: How many classes can I register for?

A: You are eligible to register for up to one class per week for a total of 2 classes at any one time. You must wait until 24 hours after you have completed a class to be eligible to schedule your next class.

Q: Can I book 2 classes and be on a wait list for another class?

A: If you are booked for 2 classes, TimeTap will not allow you to be on a wait list for an additional class.  If you are booked for 1 class, you can add yourself to the waitlist for multiple classes.

Example: Nick is booked for 1 class and has added himself to the wait list for 3 other classes.  He receives notification that 1 of the classes has an opening so he claims his spot.  He is now booked for 2 classes + he is still on the wait list for 2 other classes.

He receives another notification that one of the classes has an opening but he CANNOT claim the spot because he has already booked his maximum 2 classes.  Nick must cancel 1 of his booked classes before he can claim his spot.

Q: I want to cancel or reschedule my group class. Should I call the office to have them do it for me?
A: Our TimeTap system is a client-managed system. Our office staff is unable to manage client appointments for group classes.

Q: Something came up at the last minute and I won’t be able to make group class tonight, should I call the office to let them know, or for them to cancel my class? Will it count against me?

A: The office does not manage TimeTap registrations. We understand that life happens and you may end up missing a class for which you are registered. If missing a class becomes a regular habit, it may result in losing your group class privileges.

Q: How do I receive text notifications for group classes that I am wait listing for?

A: Even though emails are the default communication used by TimeTap, when you schedule a class or choose a class to wait list for, there is a box directly below the appointment that needs to be checked in order to receive a text message.

Q: I checked the box to receive a text message notification for a class that I am wait listed for, but I didn’t receive a text. Why?

A: Network issues, network traffic, anti-spam blockers, coverage areas, filters, operating systems – just to name a few of the things that could cause a text message not to go through.

Q: I want to find out which group classes I am registered or wait listed for. Should I call the office to have them check?

A: The best and most accurate way to view and manage your group classes is to Login to TimeTap using your email and password. Select “View classes” and you can see exactly which ones you are registered and/or wait listed for.

See our tutorial which takes you step by step through the process.

Q: I am having trouble scheduling or managing my group classes in TimeTap, what should I do?

A: We understand this can be frustrating. It helps considerably to take the time to read all the group class instructions prior to scheduling your first class. This way, you will be familiar with all of the rules and procedures which will save you a lot of frustration later on. We also have a tutorial that takes clients step by step through the most common functions of TimeTap.

The rule of thumb when having technical issues is always to log out and log back in to TimeTap, just to clear any errors that may have occurred in your browser or other settings.

If you continue to have issues, restarting your PC can take care of what may at first seem to be a glitch in the program. Be sure that pop-ups are not blocked and that cookies are allowed.  Another technique that often works is to update your electronic device to be the most current version of operating software, and to try a different web browser if the one you are using does not work.

Using a PC may be easier for scheduling appointments than using your smart phone when you are unfamiliar with the scheduler. Once you are familiar with the scheduling process, it may be easier the next time you try your Smartphone.

We also recommend that you do not manage your TimeTap appointments from your emails.  This may be old information, and may not reflect the most current status of your classes.  To view the classes you are registered for, Login to TimeTap with your email address and password, and select the option “view classes”

Q: Can I bring more than one person to group class with me?

A: We can allow up to 2 adults to attend group class with your dog.

Q: Can I bring my children to group class with me?

A: We ask that 2 adults, and no children, attend class with your dog. While we love children, for safety reasons and to keep class sizes reasonable, we ask that you make other arrangements for your children.

Q. Bad weather is in the forecast. Are my group classes cancelled? Should I call the office?

A. No need to call the office. You will receive a notification from TimeTap via email/text at least 2 hours  prior to the start of the class if it is cancelled for any reason.

Q: What if I do not use my group classes? Do they expire?

A: Yes, your group classes do expire and they are there to be used within a reasonable time frame after the trainer releases you to group class.

Classes are meant to be used during the training process which should be consecutive to the initial training, not months or years later. It’s likely that if you decide to start group classes later, they will be too challenging because you or your dog is out of the habit of training.

It’s not mandatory for you to come to group classes, but please know that we are not able to extend out group class expiration dates without a valid reason (illness which prevented attendance, extended travel, etc.)

Once released to group classes, you receive  1 year for a Day Train program and 2 years for an Immersion program. We can provide you with your group class expiration date upon request.  You may wish to note it in your smart phone calendar so that you do not forget.

Q: How do I purchase more group classes once my program expires?

A: We are pleased to tell you that we do offer additional group class packages and group membership.

Additional group classes packages and group membership can be purchased by clicking here!

Q: What are AKC Fit Dog Walks?

A: AKC Fit Dog walks are casual and are for fun and fitness. These are not group classes and will NOT be counted against your class for the week. Walk for as long or short as you would like. You can access our Fit Dog schedule here! You do not need to register in TimeTap.

Q: Who Should Attend First Time Friendly Class? How does that work?

A: This class is designed for our newer handlers and dogs. Group classes are designed to increase your dog’s attention around distractions, but attending your first group classes can be overwhelming for some people and dogs. Plan to attend this class if you wish to ease yourself into a group class situation. Your trainer can offer you guidance on which classes to attend if you are uncertain.

However, dogs that have been assigned a yellow bandana should not attend First Time Friendly.

Q: My dog is sick or injured, and will not be able to attend group classes for a month, what should I do?

A: If you contact the office, we can place your group classes on hold until your pooch is back in good health.

Q: My dog went into heat. Can I still come to group class (will I lose my group classes)?

A:  Unfortunately she will need to stay home, but we will happily extend out your classes!  Text, email, or call the office.

Sometimes people think the bleeding stops around two weeks, but it just becomes much lighter in some dogs and this is actually when they are in high heat (fertile).  Rule of thumb: Wait about a month since the bleeding began to come back to class!

Q: I am attending group class today. Which topic is being taught? Should I call the office to find out?

A: No need to call the office. When you login to TimeTap, on the landing page, there is a link to see what is being taught in our group classes.
