Frozen Dog Treats You Can Make This Summer

Break out the dog treat molds! We compiled a list of the easiest and best homemade frozen dog treats, perfect for testing while hanging out at home trying to beat the heat. All of these recipes are yogurt or nut butter-based; both ingredients need to be natural, no sugar added, and check specifically for products that are xylitol free. Each recipe blends the elements and freezes them in a mold!

Watermelon Pupsicles

  • 1 1/2 cups of seedless watermelon slices
  • 2/3 cups of greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons of honey

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. Transfer to silicone molds, then place in freezer for about 3 hours or until solid.

Pineapple Pupsicles

  • 1 1/2 cups of cubed pineapple
  • 2/3 cup of plain greek yogurt

Blend pineapple in a food processor, and blend until smooth. Add yogurt and pulse until liquid-y. Transfer to mold and freeze for 3 hours.

Yogurt Banana Treats

  • 2 cups of plain greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened almond or peanut butter
  • 1 sliced banana

Put all ingredients into a blender, blend until creamy and combined. Fill in silicone molds and place in the freezer for about 3 hours.

Watermelon Blueberry Yogurt Bites

  • 2 cups of chopped seedless watermelon
  • 1/4 cup of blueberries
  • 1 cup plain yogurt

Puree watermelon in a blender. Place small amounts of yogurt in the bottom of each mold along with 1-2 blueberries, and top with watermelon puree. Freeze for 2-3 hours.

Fresh Breath Dog Treats

  • 1/4 cup of parsley
  • 1/4 cup of mint leaves
  • 1 cup of greek yogurt

Blend mint, yogurt, and parsley together in a blender. Let these hang out in the freezer for about 2 hours before giving them to Fido.

Sweet Potato Ice Cream

  • 2 cups of plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup of sweet potato puree
  • 1/3 cup of peanut butter

Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Place in molds, then in the freezer for 3 hours or until solid.

Peanut Butter Coconut Oil Treats

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup of refined coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Liquify coconut oil either on the stovetop or microwave. Add in peanut butter and cinnamon while stirring. Stir until mixture is combined or soup consistency. Remove from heat and add to a silicone mold and let cool for 3-4 hours.

Non-Dairy Ice Cream

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup of peanut butter

Mash bananas until smooth, then mix in peanut butter. Spoon into a tray and freeze until solid.
