San Gabriel Valley Dog Parks

San Gabriel Valley Dog Parks

Many dog parks are surrounding San Gabriel, but within the city, you’ll mostly find city parks with open fields – which is nothing to worry about, and Fido sure won’t complain. For those wanting to stay within San Gabriel – here are some dog-friendly parks to take your pooch to!

Vincent Lugo Park

Prospect Ave & Wells Street, San Gabriel, CA 91776

Vincent Lugo Park is an extraordinarily dog-friendly and vast open area with about a 6-mile circumference for those who like to jog with their pups. Especially in the evenings, you’ll find many other dog owners enjoying the park with their pooches. They even offer Fido sized fountains and for those with kids a pretty fantastic playground!

It’s unclear whether this park is officially “off-leash” or not – but many owners tend to play games in the open field with their obedient pups, not on a leash.

The park is open from 7:30 AM till 10:00 PM!

Marshall Park

311 W Marshall St, San Gabriel, CA 91776

Marshall Park is a bit smaller but was created on the basis of being awarded one of the most significant grant awards from the city of San Gabriel. With that money, they created a community park that was a first-ever joint area between the City and Garvey School District.

Unleashed dogs are not allowed, but they are more than welcome with a leash present! You’ll also discover walking paths, lighted basketball courts, a playground, picnic shelters, and a multi-purpose field.

Marshall is open from 8:00 AM till 9:00 PM!

Smith Park

232 W Broadway, San Gabriel, CA 91776

Smith Park offers a good amount of green space for dogs to roam and even some climbable sculptures for your athletic canine. Unleashed dogs are not permitted. On top of shaded greenery for your furry friend to enjoy they also provide a tiny tot playground, child playground, lighted basketball court, two lighted tennis courts, four lighted handball courts, three picnic areas and even an outdoor pool!

This park is open from 7:30 AM till 10:00 PM!

Explore all these beautiful parks with your pup and let them decide which they like the most – some dogs prefer a shady, grassy area to relax, while others want to go on a multi-mile job – to each dog their own!
