Testimonial: A Rescue

When we adopted Jesse from the Animal Welfare League, the front desk staff

Jesse in training with Sit Means Sit Dog Training South Chicagoland

recommended Kerry & Sit Means Sit for our obedience training needs.  I took the pamphlet, not knowing if we would need formal training or not.  After a few weeks, we noticed Jesse had some behavioral problems.  She pulled at the leash when we walked her, she chewed on table legs, she chased her feline brothers, she didn’t listen when called, and she escaped from the house several times for romps around the neighborhood.  After unsuccessfully trying to train her ourselves, we decided to call Kerry.  Kerry & Dave came to the house for a demonstration a few days later, and Jesse immediately showed that she was able and willing to listen to commands given.  We purchased the training package and set up our first training session.  After that first session, Jesse sat & stayed upon command, came when called, and sat in place when told… even when there were other, distracting dogs around!  We worked with Jesse and her new training collar for the next 2 weeks on our own, and then Kerry & Dave returned for a follow-up session.  Following that session, Jesse was able to heel perfectly!  Now we’re looking forward to attending group classes, to make sure Jesse stays current on her new obedience skills!

I can’t recommend Sit Means Sit enough.  The program works quickly and effectively, and it is worth the initial cash outlay.  Jesse was always a good dog, but now she obeys us when we need her to obey us.  Training doesn’t eliminate her personality, either.  When it’s appropriate for Jesse to romp, jump and bark, she can; when we want Jesse to be quiet and calm, she will.  And thanks to the lifetime membership to Sit Means Sit, we’re confident that Jesse will retain her new skills forever!
