2011 Amazing Pet Expo- South Florida Fairgrounds
Sit Means Sit of Palm Beach County participated in the 2011 Amazing Pet Expo that was held at the South Florida Fairgounds. Here are two videos from that event. The first is an interview we did with Channel 12 News and the other is segments from two demonstrations that Kody and I put on for the crowd.

Testimonial- Deliah
Bob,
Deliah did great today! When my friend came over, she did really well. No
pulling…she really listened and my friend was able to approach her without any
problem. I was thrilled! Also, I did exactly what you said when she was about to go
into her witching hour…I clicked on her leash and we went out and walked and did
some training. We came back into the house and worked a bit more. She then went right
to her place afterwards and let me continue with my work! I am going to Simmons
tomorrow to take a tour and give them Deliah’s vaccinations papers. I’ll touch base
with you tomorrow once I have confirmed her boarding there. …Thank you again.
I feel so confident with you as our trainer!

Kody and I attended the Sit Means Sit Police K9 School
Kody and I had the opportunity to attend and assist Fred Hassen with the Sit Means Sit K9 School that was held in Polk County Florida. The purpose of the school was not to teach tactics, but to teach a higher level of control for the K9 teams. The handlers soon realized that through better control, they had more options open to them. We had a great time and Kody learned some new skills and had alot of fun in the process. We want to thank Fred for his instruction and the deputies of Polk County and the officers of Lakeland Police. We learned alot from you.
K9 Practice- Getting Kody ready for school
Kody and I will be participating in a Police K9 School that will be instructed by Fred Hassen. Shown here is some basic Police K9 courses that Police Dogs are tested on. First is the walking course. Dog stays with you as the handler walks out, makes a right, walks out, makes a right, walks out. Some courses have gun fire at this point. Dog and handler then returns to the start. I changed things up a bit for the return. Control of the dog is essential, but I really put some distance into this practice run. Looking forward to learning new techniques and polishing up existing ones with Fred Hassen.
South Florida Police Expo 2009
Sit Means Sit Trainer Bob Burnell and his dog Kody participated in the South Florida Police, Fire, and Security Expo at the Palm Beach Convention Center. Once again, Sit Means Sit showed off our style of training and the benefits that can be achieved. This year, we brought our new puppy- Kacey. I am not sure which dog impressed the crowd more.

Videos of Client’s Dogs
People are amazed by the level of obedience they see in one of our trainer’s dogs. The same foundational work we put in them is the same we put in our clients dogs. The question is “How far do you want to bring your dog?”. Here are two of my clients dogs- Alfie and BB
Starting to Learn Heel
Many of you have seen our Sit Means Sit dogs walking in this beautiful looking heel. This level can be achieved by you and your dog, but you have to start at the beginning. Here is a video of one of my clients learning to walk his dog in heel.
Small Dog-New Attitude
Here is one of our Palm Beach Sit Means Sit clients with her dog Peanut. Peanut was truly a “bucking bronco” when I first met her. Peanut also had issues being near other dogs. Peanut made great progress after just a few sessions. It was a pleasure working with them as they both really worked at it. This system of training really does work when you work the system.
Sit Means Sit Instructor Bob Burnell teaches students about animal psychology
Sit Means Sit Instructor Bob Burnell and his dog Kody were invited to lecture at the Boynton Beach High School. The students were part of an advanced placement class that were learning about human psychology. Bob discussed with them the similarities as well as differences between human and animal psychology. The basics of classical and operant conditioning were discussed as well as the differences between varying reinforcers that are used to train animals. A presentation was then given by our own Sit Means Sit dog, Kody. Theory is great and is the foundation of what we do, but nothing beats the final results that are possible. And no one can beat a Sit Means Sit dog in showing off results.
