Sit Means Sit Pueblo can now certify your dog as  A Canine Good Citizen! We have already had many passing the test. All clients will be able to test at no cost. Our Germane Shepherd, Pepper, was only 3 months old we started him in obedience classes. These obedience classes used a choke chain and hand signals to train. When he was young it was easy to use the choke chain, he was very smart and knew what was expected of him. But as he grew to be over 100 pounds, feisty and his fur became very thick and long it become very difficult to use just a choke chain so our trainer suggested we use a choke chain with barbs on it. These are very pointed and became tangled in his long fur not to mention the pain it produced. We took him to continual classes for about 18 months then decided that we could manage him from home. During the next year he became very aggressive and he pretty much learned to control the family including anyone coming to our front door, into our home or even close to our car when he was in it with us. He also decided he didn’t like anyone talking loud or raising their hand or any close contact between people Then during a visit from our great-grandchildren who were only one and two years old, Pepper acted vicious and uncontrollable and we knew then that we had to find an alternative obedience class. We found Sit Means Sit, called and Jory came over and showed us what she could do with him in less than 5 minutes. We were amazed! We were finally able to take Pepper out into public, which we do all the time. He loves to walk the River Walk and meet and greet adults including children. After three years we still try to go to classes every weekend as Pepper really enjoys all his dog friends.

It is that time of year again and we have entered into the Pueblo Parade of lights again. We are allowing our clients to come join us on our float and bring their dogs with. It will be an awesome training experience for the dogs and a fun time for the handers to show off to the Pueblo community all the hard work they have been putting into training their.

We have Dogs of all sizes going through our program.

We are happy to announce that Big R here in Pueblo will be allowing us to have group class at their store this Saturday October 30th at 1230 in the afternoon.

we will be allowed to walk the dogs throughout the store, do different group class exercises in a designated area, and all SMS clients that attend will be receiving a 10% off coupon to use in the store.

Here is Butkus practicing his place command and a very difficult object at the riverwalk. We have group class at the riverwalk this saturday Oct 23rd at Noon.

We meet right below Angelo’s Pizza Parlor next the the water. Come down, talk to one of the trainers about your dog training issues and see all our dogs have fun at what might be one of the last outdoor group classes of the year.

Titus was out at the State Fair telling everyone to come watch his friends try and set new records in the Dock Dogs competition. He wasn’t the best at jumping off the dock or swimming for the matter but he definalty liked helping everyone who didn’t know what time to come watch the shows.
