Dog Board Games to Keep You (and the Kids) Entertained

We wish our dogs could join in on the fun of playing boardgames with us, but with non-opposable thumbs, unfortunately they can’t quite keep up. If our dogs can’t join in on game night, the next best thing might be playing dog-themed boardgames with the rest of the fam. Your dog will appreciate their representation and you’ll have tons of fun competing against family and friends. Plus, if your dog really feels left out, there are plenty of dog-friendly brain games out there for them to tackle on their own. Check out our list of the best dog board games below!

Beagle or Bagel

Designed for ages seven and up, this adorable game invites players to decide whether the card held up is a curled-up beagle or a bagel. You’d be surprised at how tough this game can get, especially considering the fast pace once the competitiveness sets in! A great game for younger and older players alike.

Dog-Gonnit Board Game

Bored in the house? Not with this exciting board game! Each player gets assigned a dog to care for and can earn hearts by feeding the dog, taking them to the vet, and giving them some TLC. The first one to reach six hearts wins the game. There are plenty of obstacles along the way to make this game more difficult. For ages eight and up.

Dog Bingo

Dog bingo is a fun and refreshing take on the classic game we all know and love. Instead of numbers, try to get five dog breeds in a row. Players get to learn the names and markings of doggos from all over the world, so it’s a great way to combine learning and fun. Designed for two to twelve players and ages six and up, dog bingo will become a new staple in your game rotation.

Dog Crimes

Put on your detective hat for this exciting game and solve one of the 40 different dog-related crimes included in the game. Great for single players but can also be adapted for team play. Ages eight and up will love tackling tough cases in Dog Crimes.

Agility

This two-person strategy game entails players using cards and tokens to adopt dogs and bring them through agility obstacle courses in attempts to finish the course first. Recommended for players ages 10 and up, this game is slightly more complex than other dog board games, but after a practice round or two, you’ll be comfortable and ready to tackle more games!

Being stuck inside isn’t so bad when you have dog-themed board games to entertain yourself and your family. Boredom is no match for board games!
