2026 Conformation Dog Handling Classes

  • Classes begin January 21st, 2026 and will run unless otherwise posted on this page.
    • No class Wednesday, June 17th
    • No class Wednesday, July 1st
  • This class is suitable for all levels of skill.
  • $15 per class (cash, Venmo or CashApp)

Instructor: Kristie Stocker

Kristie Stocker is a Professional Handler of over 20 years and has recently competed with an Ibizan Hound at the 2026 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.  She also is a co-breeder and owner of multiple dual champion, group placing, and nationally ranked show dogs in the U.S. and Canada.

Details about this class:

  • Registration: All classes are on a walk-in basis, no pre-registration required!  Payment can be made on site to Kristie.
  • Skill Level: Classes are suitable for all experience levels, including junior handlers.  Anyone under the age of 18 will be required to bring a parent or guardian. Dogs of all ages are welcome.  
  • Class Focus: In each session, there will be a focus on stacking and gaiting with a personalized guidance on polishing your dog’s performance in the ring.  
  • Dog health: Dogs must be healthy. Any dog that shows symptoms of illness or lameness should not attend this class. If an instructor determines your dog is not well or not behaviorally suited for class, you will be politely asked to leave the facility for the health and safety of all dogs in our facility.
  • Equipment: Dogs should be on an appropriate show lead.  You are welcome to bring treats to reinforce behaviors.  An appropriate carrier or travel crate may be needed.  If dogs must be kept in cars, appropriate care should be taken to ensure they stay warm/cool as needed.
  • One handler per dog: One dog per handler at a time.  Multiple dogs can attend but must be safely contained for their turn.

 

What to expect when arriving at the SMS facility:

  • Entering the building: Come in through the door labeled “Group Class Entrance”. When facing the building, this is the door on the left, to the left of the bay doors.
  • Arrival time: Please do not enter more than 15 minutes early, as there may be other activities happening.
  • Safety:
    • Do not allow your dog to go up to any dogs on the premises. SMS does train dogs with behavior issues, so this is for everyone’s safety.
    • You will be required to sign in and acknowledge a liability waiver for each class.
    • There are no dogs allowed entry on the adjacent Immersion Inn training floor. 
  • Restrooms: Restroom on premises, but no dogs are allowed in.  You must have a safe place to leave your dog whether it be a travel crate or your car.
