Easy DIY Dog Shampoo Recipes

If you prefer natural dog products, making DIY dog shampoos is a perfect project for you! We’ve compiled the best natural dog shampoo products.

3-Ingredient Shampoo

For this recipe, you only need:

  • 2 cups of warm water
  • 1/4 cup of nontoxic dish soap
  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar

Once you have collected your ingredients, combine them in a spray bottle and mix. Then you’re done! But, when bathing Fido, be sure to wet their fur before spraying the shampoo.

Dry Skin Shampoo

If your dog suffers from dry or flaky skin, this recipe is perfect! All you need is:

  • 1 cup of uncooked oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • 1 quart of warm water.

First, grind the oatmeal in a food processor until it is the consistency of flour. Next, mix oatmeal into a bowl with baking soda. Finally, add warm water to the bowl and mix. When using this shampoo during bathtime, try to leave the shampoo on for a couple of minutes. The longer staying time will amplify the soothing properties of the oatmeal.

Anti-Flea-and-Tick Shampoo

If you live in a heavily wooded or grassy area, this shampoo is perfect! To make it, you need:

  • 10 ounces of warm water
  • 2 ounces of aloe vera gel
  • 1 tablespoon of castile soap
  • 2 drops of dog-safe essential oils

If you or your dog is sensitive to smells, use diluted essential oil. All you need to do is place the ingredients in a spray bottle and mix!

Dry Shampoo

Bathing your dog more than once a month can harm their skin. But we all know your dogs can get into some stinky situations between bathtimes. That’s where dry shampoo comes in! Just like dry shampoo for humans, use this powder on your dog whenever their coat gets a little smelly. All you need to make this dry shampoo is:

  • 1 cup of baking soda
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • A few drops of dog-safe essential oil.

Place these ingredients in some Tupperware, and mix!

These shampoos are amazing options for those who prefer natural grooming products. But make sure you are using dog-safe ingredients when using these recipes. Enjoy!
