A Guide to Taking Your Dog to Vegas

Planning a trip to Las Vegas? Read below for a guide when planning to bring Fido along for the fun!

What To Do

Pet-Friendly Hotel

The PetStay program is a fantastic service if you are planning to take on Vegas with your furry friend. The program is made up of multiple pet-friendly hotels. These hotels offer in-room mats, dishes, pet relief areas, and crates.

Dining

Dog-friendly eats are a must when traveling with your furry friend! Here are some dog-friendly restaurants in Las Vegas. This way, you can enjoy some fantastic and fun meals with your four-legged friend by your side!

Off-Strip Activities

On the strip, there is shopping and lots of other activities that can be hit or miss with your pal. Additionally, dogs can only be on the Strip from 5 am to noon. So, you can visit some local parks or hiking trails. Other off-strip activities include Charlie Frias Park, Town Square, Sunset Park,  and Downtown Summerlin. If you want to take your companion with you everywhere you go, off-strip activities are the better option.

What To Avoid

Secondhand Smoke

Secondhand smoke on the strip is almost unavoidable. However, long-term exposure can be very harmful to your pal’s health, and yours too! So, you should limit your time around smoking areas. Especially in indoor smoking areas.

Pools

Normally, dogs are not allowed in the pool area. There are some exceptions depending on the staff. However, it is safer to stay away from the pool unless you practice pool safety.

Summer Heat

Las Vegas is in the middle of the Mojave Desert so the summer can get pretty intense. High temperatures can cause heat stroke or burn your pup’s paws. So, you should avoid planning your trip in the summer months. The weather tends to be more comfortable in the late fall to early spring.

A Las Vegas trip with Fido will be better spent in a slow travel experience to really take in all that the city has to offer.
