While we recommend that you enroll your dog in dog obedience school to do properly whatever he is doing, there is of course no necessity for the perfection in home dog training that is striven for in the dog competition ring.

There is, however, one absolute requirement identical in dog competition ring and home-your dog must learn to obey you instantly, with one and only one command or order. The true sign of the poorly trained dog is the repeated command or commands, quite generally given in rising voice, and only reluctantly complied with by the dog.
