DIY Holiday Dog Ornaments

DIY Holiday Dog Ornaments

We all love our furry friends. So why not make an ornament in their honor? Today, we’re going over our favorite DIY doggy holiday ornaments!

Paw Print Ornament

For this easy DIY, you only need:

  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Parchment paper
  • Water
  • Pet-friendly paint

After you’ve assembled your ingredients, set your oven to 200 degrees. Then, pour your flour, salt, and water into a mixing bowl and knead for 30-45 seconds. The ingredients should form a sticky dough! Next, group your dough into small balls and gently flatten them. Cut out a circle big enough to fit your pooch’s paw out of the flattened dough.

Then, put your dough on the ground, and gently place your pup’s paw onto the dough! Make sure to place the paw firmly so it leaves a clear indent. Next, bake your dough at 200 degrees for two and a half hours. Once your dough is baked, you can paint the ornament however you like!

Dog Bone Ornament

For this easy crafty project, you only need:

  • Air-dry clay
  • Yarn
  • Paint

First, flatten your air-dry clay using a flat surface, such as a large book. Then, trace a dog bone onto the flat clay. Once you are happy with your bone tracing, cut the bone out of the clay with a plastic knife. Make sure to poke a hole to thread the yarn through.  Then, let the bone dry for about 12 hours. Once the bone is dry, use any paint to write your pooch’s name on the bone! Thread your yarn through the hole, and your ornament is complete!

Dog Treat Bauble

For this festive DIY, you only need:

  • Clear fillable bauble ornaments
  • Small dog treats
  • Ribbon.

When selecting dog treats for this DIY, try to get treats your pup doesn’t like. Then, your furry friend isn’t tempted to eat the ornament. First, separate the bauble into two halves. Next, carefully fill the bauble with small dog treats. Then, secure the two bauble sides together and decorate with ribbon. Finally, your dog treats bauble is complete.
