Smooth Coat

Regular bathing and brushing are required for dogs with smooth coats. You should use a bristle brush against the direction of hair growth and a fine-toothed comb to remove any dander from their coat. Long Coats
Dogs with long coats, such as Shih Tzus, Collies, and Chow Chows, require brushing almost daily to maintain their fur due to the risk of tangles. Use a pin brush and a smooth bristle brush to brush your canine’s long coat. You can also use a detangling shampoo to avoid pain when brushing. Plus, using a conditioner to put strength and shine back into your pup’s fur would be best. Lastly, brush out your companion’s coat and consider using a dog hair dryer.
Wire Coats
Breeds such as terriers and Irish Wolfhounds hive wire coats are susceptible to tangles and need regular grooming. Slicker brushes are best for this coat type. Curly Coats
